People who are helping to find and recover dead bodies from the Supernova music festival area have stopped their search because they are being attacked by militants. At least 260 people died at the festival on Saturday.
Yossi Landau, who leads a group of volunteers called Zaka, says that his team of 25 people have found and brought back 162 bodies from the festival location. But after that, they were not able to find any more.
“We had to leave that place quickly because it was under attack,” Landau explained to the BBC’s Today show.
A group of 600 volunteers who are trained by the army work together to find and bring back the bodies of people who have died. They do this because it is important for religious reasons to bury the person in the same way that they were when they were alive.
Video from Saturday showed the people at the festival running when the attacks started.
