Palestinian villages in West Bank attacked by hundreds of Israeli settlers

Hundreds of Israeli individuals have visited Palestinian settlements in the West Bank and inflicted harm on the inhabitants there. This happened after a young Israeli boy from a settlement was found dead.

Binyamin Achimair, who was 14 years old, was found dead in the Malachei Ha’Shalom area. The Israeli military said he was killed in a “terrorist attack. ”

It is still not known what caused the death, and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has not shown proof that it was a “terrorist attack. ”

Shortly after that, videos from CNN show people burning houses and cars in the village of Duma, which is southeast of Nablus. Video shows a lot of smoke in the air and people shooting guns. People who saw it happen said that the settlers went into the houses of other people and there was fighting with Palestinians.

In a video from Duma, a man said it was like a war on the streets.

Videos on websites like Facebook and Twitter show fights between Palestinians and Israeli settlers in the villages of Deir Dibwan and Beitin, east of Ramallah. Palestinians are throwing rocks at the settlers, and Israeli military vehicles are using tear gas to break up the crowds.

The new attacks by settlers happened the day after a big attack in the village of Al-Mughayyir, which is east of Ramallah. One Palestinian man was killed in the attack, while they were looking for Achimair. Around 25 more people got hurt in the attack, as stated by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that they are looking for the person who killed Achimair and asked Israelis to cooperate with the authorities.

“The horrible killing of Binyamin Achimair is a very bad crime. ” I feel really sorry for his family,” said the Israeli Prime Minister’s office in a statement.

“The IDF and Shin Bet are working hard to catch the bad murderers and anyone helping them,” it said.

The prime minister said that Israeli security forces are doing a lot of work in the area and in Palestinian villages. He asked the citizens of Israel to let them do their work without any problems.

Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant encouraged people to not break the law on their own.

“I am asking the public to support the security forces in finding the terrorists quickly. Taking revenge will make it hard for our soldiers to do their job. We should not take the law into our own hands,” Gallant said in a post on X.

Videos filmed by CNN show more Israeli soldiers at a checkpoint near Sinjil town, northeast of Ramallah.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said on Saturday that more than 12 Palestinians went to hospitals in the West Bank, with most of them injured by gunshots.

Violence has been going up in the areas of the West Bank and East Jerusalem that are controlled by others since the October 7 attacks. The Palestinian Health Ministry in Ramallah said that at least 462 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces or settlers.
