Israeli hostage on October 7 probably killed by friendly fire – Investigation

The military announced on Friday that it is probable that an Israeli helicopter gunship killed 7 people as a reaction to the attack. A person was taken captive by Hamas fighters when they attacked Israeli towns near Gaza in October.

For a few weeks, the military has been looking into reports that some of the 1,200 Israelis and foreign victims of the attack were accidentally killed by their own side during the confusion. More than 250 people were also taken as hostages during the chaos.

An investigation looked into what happened when Efrat Katz was kidnapped in Kibbutz Nir Oz. They looked at videos and listened to witnesses to find out what happened.

It was shown that a helicopter shot at a vehicle with gunmen inside, and it seemed like there were also hostages in the vehicle.

“The fire killed most of the terrorists in the vehicle, and it’s likely that Efrat Katz also died. ” “He also died,” the statement said.

The investigation found that the existing surveillance systems could not tell the hostages apart.

“The air force commander said the helicopter crew did a good job following orders in a difficult war situation. “
