Iran attacked Israel directly on the weekend, which is different from their usual way of fighting through other groups. The nuclear deal fell apart after President Trump pulled the US out in 2018. This caused Iran’s currency to drop in value. The value of the rial has dropped close to the lowest it has ever been. On Monday, it was worth 658,000 to the dollar, which is a lot lower than the 32,000 it was worth almost ten years ago.
In Tehran, prosecutors are investigating the Jahan-e Sanaat newspaper and a journalist for a story about how Iran’s attack on Israel could hurt the economy. The Mizan news agency of the judiciary said the report is upsetting and will make people worried and affect the country’s economy.
His situation is happening as other journalists and activists say they have been called to meet with the authorities, which suggests that the government is getting tougher on anyone who shows disagreement in the country.
