At least five people killed in Israeli attacks in Rafah

Officials at a hospital in Palestine said that Israel bombed the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip and at least five people died.

More than half of the 2. 3 million people in the area have gone to Rafah for shelter. Israel is doing regular attacks in Rafah as it gets ready for a big fight in the city. In central Gaza, four people died when Israeli tanks fired at them.

A boat in the Gulf of Aden was attacked on Thursday, probably by Yemen’s Houthi rebels because of the Israel-Hamas war.

At the same time, a leader of Hamas said to the Associated Press that the group is okay with stopping fighting with Israel for five years or longer.

The Israel-Hamas war started because of a very unusual event in October. There were 7 attacks in southern Israel. The attackers killed about 1,200 people, mostly innocent civilians, and took about 250 people hostage. Israel says that the militants are still keeping about 100 people against their will and the bodies of over 30 others.

According to local health officials, more than 34,000 Palestinians have been killed in the war. About two-thirds of them were children and women.
