At least 9 Palestinians killed by Israeli airstrike near Rafah, in southern Gaza

The Israeli military bombed a house in the city of Rafah in Gaza, killing at least nine people, including six children. Israel has been attacking Gaza for almost seven months.

The fighting between Israel and the militant group Hamas has made the Middle East more tense, especially between Israel and Iran. Now all eyes are on Rafah, a place where more than half of Gaza’s 2. 3 million people live. Many of them had to leave their homes because of the fighting in other parts of Gaza.

The attack on Friday hit the Tel Sultan neighborhood in Rafah, according to Gaza’s civil defense. At al-Najjar hospital, where dead bodies are kept, family members cried and hugged the bodies of children covered in white cloth. “Hamza my dear. ” The grandma said, “Your hair looks very nice. ”

Abdel-Fattah Sobhi Radwan, his wife Najlaa Ahmed Aweidah, and their three kids died, according to his brother-in-law Ahmed Barhoum. Barhoum’s wife, Rawan Radwan, and their five-year-old daughter, Alaa, died.

At least 34,049 Palestinians have died and 76,901 have been injured in the war. In the last 24 hours, 37 bodies of people killed by Israeli attacks were taken to hospitals. The health authorities in charge of Hamas don’t separate between fighters and regular people when counting the casualties. They say that at least two-thirds of the casualties are children and women.

Israel says that Hamas is responsible for the deaths of innocent people, because it hides among civilians.

The war has made tensions between neighboring regions get worse and worse. On Friday, Israel and Iran, who are enemies, downplayed a possible Israeli attack near a big air base and nuclear site in central Iran. This shows they were stepping back from a potential full-scale war. Last week, Iran shot a lot of missiles at Israel because they were angry that Israel had allegedly killed two Iranian generals in Syria.

Israel is still fighting with groups supported by Iran. They often shoot rockets and fly drones back and forth over the border between Lebanon and Israel. This is with a group called Hezbollah, which is supported by Iran. Yemen’s Houthi rebels, who are supported by Iran, have attacked merchant ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden to show support for Palestinians in Gaza.

There is also a lot of tension in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that 12 people were found dead on Saturday in a refugee camp, bringing the total number of deaths to 13 since the Israeli military operation started on Thursday night. It means they were killed because the occupation attacked them.

The Islamic Jihad group said that three of their members have died. Another person who got killed was a 15-year-old boy. The Israeli army reported that its soldiers killed 10 fighters in the camp and nearby areas, and also arrested eight suspects. Nine soldiers and officers were hurt, the report stated.

Since October, Israeli forces have killed at least 469 Palestinians from east Jerusalem and the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

In another part of the West Bank, the ministry reported that an ambulance driver was killed near Sawiya town while trying to help Palestinians who were hurt in fights with Israeli settlers. The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that Mohammed Musa got shot in the chest. A bunch of settlers started attacking people a week ago because an Israeli teenager went missing and was found dead.
