UK aircrafts were shot down by Iranian drones – PM Rishi Sunak confirms

He denounces Iran’s assault on Israel from the previous night and verifies that UK jets intercepted several Iranian attack drones.

He mentions the UK’s involvement in an “internationally coordinated effort” to intercept the missiles and drones launched by Iran.

“The RAF sent additional planes to the region,” he adds.

Sunak says Iran’s attack was a “dangerous and unnecessary escalation which I’ve condemned in strongest terms”.
