Two boys aged 15 and 16, arrested over killing of teenager at a house party

After a home party where a 16-year-old was killed, two adolescent boys have been charged with murder.

Mikey Roynon, 16, was killed in Bath on Saturday night about 11 p.m. He had only received one stab wound, it was discovered.

Avon and Somerset Police reported that two further boys, ages 15 and 16, from Wiltshire and Dorset, respectively, had been charged with murder.

Later today, they are scheduled to appear in front of the Bristol Youth Court on charges of murder and possessing an offensive weapon.

Detective Inspector Mark Newbury said: ‘This is a significant development in our investigation and in our quest to achieve justice for Mikey.

‘His family have been informed and specialist family liaison officers continue to support them.

‘They have been at the forefront of our minds as we’ve carried out the inquiries which have resulted in these charges.

‘The investigation is ongoing and there is still a lot of work for us to do.

‘The cordon has now been reduced but officers are likely to remain at the property for the next few days.

‘The support of the local community has been invaluable and I’d once again like to thank them for their patience and understanding.’
