Trump and Biden triumph in Tuesday’s primaries in US

Joe Biden and Donald Trump won the most votes from their party in primaries on Tuesday. This helps them get closer to having a rematch in the November election.

Biden and Trump both won the primary elections in Ohio on Tuesday. Biden is a Democrat and Trump is a Republican. Trump won the election for the Republican candidate in Florida. Biden won all of Florida’s delegates without a contest because the Democrats there canceled their primary. This has happened before for other presidents. Trump and Biden are likely to win the primaries in Arizona and Kansas on Tuesday. This will give them more support after becoming the chosen nominees for their parties last week.

Other groups of people who are not the president could help us understand how the country feels about politics. In the Ohio Senate primary, a businessman named Bernie Moreno, backed by Trump, won against two other candidates, Frank LaRose and Matt Dolan. Dolan’s family owns the Cleveland Guardians baseball team.

In Chicago, people who can vote will choose if they want to add a tax on property just one time. This money will pay for new services for people who don’t have a home. Voters in California will soon choose a new person to take over for former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who left his job after losing his position in the Republican party.

Trump and Biden have been concentrating on the big election for weeks. They are now focusing on states that could be close in November, instead of just ones that have primary elections.

Trump voted in Florida at a center in Palm Beach on Tuesday and said to reporters, “I voted for Donald Trump. ”

Trump went to Ohio on Saturday to give a speech and support the Republican party. Ohio used to be a state that showed which way the whole country might vote in presidential elections, but now it usually votes for the Republicans. Trump got eight percent more votes than the other candidate in the state in 2016 and 2020. However, there are indications that the state might be more likely to succeed in 2024. Last year, the majority of people in Ohio voted to make sure that abortions stay legal and also voted to allow marijuana to be used.

Biden is going to Nevada and Arizona on Tuesday. These states were very close in the last election and are still very important for both campaigns.

Trump and Biden are talking about the things they have done while in office and saying the other person is dangerous for the country. Trump, who is 77 years old, says that Biden, who is 81, is not mentally capable. The president said his Republican opponent is bad for democracy because he tried to change the election and he likes foreign leaders who are very powerful.

Those ideas were clear on Tuesday at a few voting places.

Trump supporter Linda Bennet, who lives in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida near Mar-a-Lago, says President Biden doesn’t know how to tie his shoes anymore.

She agreed with Trump about Biden’s arguments, but she doesn’t like the way Trump talks and acts. She thinks Trump keeps his promises and makes the country feel strong, especially the economy.

Brenda Woodfolk, a Democrat from Columbus, Ohio, voted for Biden and agreed with the president’s views on the upcoming election.

“It’s frightening,” she said about the possibility of Trump being president again. Trump wants to have all the power and control, and he talks about making America only for white people. It’s all nonsense. “There is too much hate happening. ”

Bennet and Woodfolk both think immigration is really important, but they have different reasons for why they feel that way.

Bennet, a Republican voter, said the border issue is really bad. “I believe the government is purposely bringing in these people to change things for their own gain, and it’s making me very angry. ”

Woodfolk, the Democrat, said she is okay with immigrants having the same opportunities in the US, but she’s concerned that it might make things harder for people who have been here a long time.

Trump and Republicans have strongly criticized Biden for the large number of people coming into the US from Mexico. They are trying to use this issue to their advantage, even in states that are not near the border. Biden has been fighting back more lately, after Senate Republicans stopped a deal on migration that they had agreed on with the White House. They only did this after Trump said he didn’t like the deal. Biden says Trump and Republicans don’t want to fix the problem, they just want to make voters angry for the election.

Trump has been dealing with legal problems while trying to become president for the past year. He has dozens of criminal and civil cases and could owe over $500 million in fines.

He was going to trial for hiding hush money payments by faking business records. The trial was supposed to start on Monday in New York. However, the trial was postponed for 30 days because new evidence was revealed and Trump’s lawyers needed time to look over it.
