Three Indian nationals alleged to have killed Hardeep Singh Nijjar

Three people from India are being accused of killing Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. They will go to court on Tuesday. This incident caused a big problem between India and another country.

Karanpreet Singh, Kamalpreet Singh, and Karan Brar got in trouble in Edmonton last week and have to go to court in Surrey at 9:30 am.

Everyone is being charged with committing the most serious type of murder and planning to commit murder together.

Nijjar, who wanted a separate land for Sikhs, and was the leader of the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara, was killed while driving away from the temple in Surrey in June.

In September, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told the government that there is evidence suggesting that the Indian government was involved in the killing, but the Indian government denies it.

Police said last week that they arrested some people and are still looking into whether they have ties to the government of India.

Nijjar helped plan secret votes for a separate Sikh state in India and the government saw him as a terrorist.
