Smoke issues arose at the international airport located in Lagos, Nigeria. As a result, people who work at the airport and people traveling had to leave the building. The airport authority said this in a statement.
Firefighters worked hard to control the dark smoke and stop it from moving to different areas of the terminal.
According to the airport authority, the smoke was caused by batteries made of lithium located in the baggage hall of Terminal 1.
“We are happy to inform you that the situation is currently under control and the incident will not impact flight operations,” Yakubu Funtua from the authority said to the BBC.
