Less than 24 hours after the explosive interview with her husband Eamonn Holmes aired, Ruth Langsford served as the host of today’s Loose Women episode.
Eamonn made several accusations regarding Philip Schofield‘s life on This Morning, another ITV show, during the interview with GB News. He said Phil ‘created an atmosphere where everyone despised him.’
“People would steer clear of him in the hallway.” He didn’t glance at anyone and didn’t recognise anyone by name, he continued.
After Phil, 61, left This Morning on May 20, he was interviewed. A little over a week later, he made another statement and admitted to cheating on his wife of 30 years, Stephanie Lowe, by having an affair with a considerably younger male coworker.
Eamonn, who previously fronted Friday’s This Morning episodes with Ruth, claimed the young runner in question was ‘promoted’ without being asked, and was moved on to Loose Women from This Morning. He called for the ‘unprecedented move’ to be investigated, particularly ‘who authorised it.’
He also alleged that Phil’s lover would be ‘delivered from Phillip’s London home [to the ITV studio], usually on a Friday morning, because Thursday was playtime when he and Phillip would hit the town.’
Ruth, 63, was even mentioned in the interview, including a claim that she is ‘still in touch’ with the colleague who had a relationship with Phil.

The presenter had to push all that to one side to present Loose Women, and some viewers commended her professionalism.
‘Poor Ruth looks tired and a bit drawn…Good for her turning up for #LooseWomen today,’ wrote one person.
Another shared their admiration for Ruth’s decision not to pull a sickie: ‘You have to admire Ruth for choosing not to have shingles today.’
Other people wondered what the atmosphere was like backstage.
‘Wonder how awkward it was for poor Ruth going into the studios today.’
Another added: ‘Them elephants in the room are pretty quiet lol.’
During the show, Ruth did bring up Eamonn but avoided any discussion around the interview. Instead, she spoke about how the couple feels when it’s raining on holiday.
‘I get really sulky, like a petulant child. Eamonn will say: “It’s alright”,’ she told the panel.
