Russian missile strike affected every household in every Ukrainian community – Mayor Terekhov

Russia attacked the city of Kharkiv with missiles on Friday morning, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

He said on Ukrainian TV that a 10-year-old boy died when a house was hit. Over 20 other people got hurt.

The mayor also said that it is probable that Russia used Iskander missiles in the recent attack.

People from Hroza village were at a burial ceremony for a Ukrainian soldier from their village when a missile hit on Thursday.

The news agency, Interfax-Ukraine, reported that the man’s wife, son, and daughter-in-law were all killed, according to the local prosecutor, Dmytro Chubenko.

The soldier was originally buried in Dnipro, but his family wanted to move his body and bury him in his hometown.

Officials said that the people who were at the service were sitting down to eat when the missile struck the café, which also acted as a grocery store, in the village.

Speaking on Ukrainian TV, Mr Klymenko said that before the Russian attack, Hroza had a population of 330 people.

He said that every family and household had at least one person at the wake.

The initial information we have says that an Iskander missile hit the building, the minister said.

The leader of the Kharkiv region, Oleh Syniehubov, said that the attack was one of the most violent crimes in the area.

“He said that twenty percent of the village has died in a terrorist attack. ”

The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that the act was so terrible that it couldn’t even be described as beastly, as that would be an insult to animals.

Starting from Friday, there will be three days of mourning in the Kharkiv region.
Maria Avdeeva, a security analyst and journalist from Ukraine, spoke to BBC Radio 4’s World Tonight. She suggested that someone might have informed the Russian military about the wake.

“She said that we can assume that someone told others about where and when these people are meeting. ”

In simpler words, the Russian propaganda channels are spreading false information about the funeral. They are saying that there were military gatherings, but that’s not true because it was mostly a ceremony for regular people.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said the attack showed how far Russian forces are willing to go into evil actions. He made these comments after meeting Mr Zelensky before at a summit for the European Political Community. The summit was created last year as a response to the invasion of Ukraine.

The White House spokesperson, Karine Jean-Pierre, said the strike was terrible and showed why it was crucial for Ukraine to keep getting help from other countries.

The situation happened when many people in the US House of Representatives are starting to disagree with giving more money to Ukraine.

The Kupyansk district has been in the middle of fighting between Russian and Ukrainian armies since Russian President Vladimir Putin started his big attack on Ukraine in February last year.

It was an important place where Russian forces got their supplies when the war started, but Kyiv took it back in September 2022 after fighting for many months.
