German prosecutors have stopped looking into Till Lindemann, the main singer of Rammstein, after accusations of sexual misconduct were made against him.
An investigation started in June because a number of women reported that they were given drugs and forced to take part in sexual activities.
Lindemann consistently said that the accusations were not true. His lawyers said that all of the claims were not true.
Prosecutors have decided to stop investigating because there is not enough evidence.
The women said they were hired to have sex with a 60-year-old man at parties that happened after Rammstein shows.
Last week, the singer’s lawyers announced that they will take legal action right away in response to any accusations.
A 24-year-old fan from Northern Ireland, Selby Lynn, said that she thought someone put something in her drink without her knowing and that Lindemann suggested having sex with her at a party behind the stage in Vilnius, Lithuania.
She posted on social media saying: “I want to explain again. Till did NOT come into physical contact with me. He understood that I did not want to engage in sexual activity with him. I never said he forced me to have sex against my will.
The claims she made led other women to share their stories of sexual wrongdoing by Lindemann on social media.
Some people believed that they were chosen on social media to attend Mr. Lindemann’s events They also said that they were invited to parties before and after the show.
In June, the Berlin public prosecution’s office started a preliminary investigation against Lindemann. They received multiple reports of crimes from other people.
