Just seconds after landing, a jet carrying 172 passengers abruptly veered off the runway.
Video taken from inside the LATAM Airlines Airbus A321 shows it taxiing down the runway at Hercl Luz International Airport while it is pouring rain.
Then, it appears to rapidly veer to the left before launching off the tarmac.
All 172 passengers and the seven staff members were declared unharmed following the incident on July 12 by the airline and the airport, also known as Floripa Airport.
The incident prompted over 70 flights to be cancelled.
Part of the runway was damaged when it crashed off the tarmac.
Emergency services arrived to help passengers disembark the damaged plane.
A LATAM Airlines spokesperson said: ‘We reinforce that all 172 passengers and seven crew members of flight LA 3300 were safely disembarked and released after evaluation by the medical team.
‘The action was taken after the incident with the Airbus A321 aircraft PT-MXM, which exceeded the runway limits upon landing.’
The Aeronautical Accidents Investigation and Prevention Centre is investigating the incident.
The airline confirmed that it is assisting CENIPA with the investigation and will provide updates on social media in the coming days.
