Stellantis is bringing back over 10,000 Dodge and Chrysler cars in Canada because their airbags are broken.
The company is recalling about 10,285 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 cars from 2018 to 2021. Their side airbag inflator could explode too forcefully and throw pieces of metal at people in the car. They need to replace the inflator to fix the problem.
The car company says that because of a problem when they made the parts, water might get in and make them rust and break. This could make the airbags blow up, even if there’s no accident, because it gets really hot inside the car.
The company says they don’t know of anyone getting hurt or any accidents caused by the airbag.
Stellantis has said that the problem affects less than 1% of the cars being called back, but they want all their customers to act on the recall notices.
Around the world, 318,000 Dodge and Chrysler vehicles have been affected.
