North Korea artillery firing in reaction to South Korea’s and United States’ military training

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un watched artillery practice to get ready for battle. This was reported by the state media on Friday. This happened a few days after North Korea said they would also do military training in response to the South Korean-U.S military exercises, which they see as preparation for invading their country.

On Thursday, the North Korean Central News Agency said that the drills included artillery units that can reach Seoul, the capital of South Korea.

Kim said that artillery units need to act quickly and aggressively as soon as they enter a real war.

North Korea’s big guns that are placed close to the border are a danger to Seoul, a city with 10 million people that is 40 to 50 kilometers away.

North Korea’s army said on Tuesday that they will do military activities in response to South Korea and the USA’s annual military exercises. Military practice that will stop on March 14th. Kim went to a military training area in the west on Wednesday and asked for better abilities to fight in wars.

Alliance is a strong friendship between South Korea and the United States. Training started on Monday. It includes practicing in a pretend command center on a computer and doing 48 different types of activities outside. This is twice as many activities as last year.

North Korea sees South Korea and the United States as enemies. Military drills are seen as a big danger to safety. They are thought to be getting ready to attack the North. Seoul and Washington say their exercises are for defending themselves.

North Korea has been doing more missile tests since 2022 to make stronger nuclear weapons that can reach the U.S Mainland and South Korea. In simpler words: South Korea’s main area. South Korea and the United States. The military has increased their training exercises in reaction.

The experts believe that North Korea wants to use its updated weapons to get the United States to lift sanctions when they start talking again. They think North Korea might do more weapons tests and use aggressive language this year because the United States and South Korea are having important elections.
