Nigerian prosecutors on Monday arraigned in court Senator Elisha Abbo for alleged assault on a woman.
The senator was captured on camera assaulting a woman at a sex toy shop in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

The lawmaker is expected to be arraigned on one count of assault at the Zuba Magistrates’ Court in Abuja.
After public outcry, Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu directed the police chief in charge of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Bala Ciroma to investigate the matter.
The investigation led to the invitation of the senator by the police, which further led to his detention on Thursday.

He was however released on Friday afternoon after meeting the bail conditions.
Abbo had been criticized by various individuals and groups over his assault against the young lady.
Last Wednesday, the Nigerian senate, however, set up a bipartisan ad hoc committee headed by Senator Sam Egwu, to probe the alleged assault on the nursing mother by Abbo.
