The Irish police, known as Gardaí, are investigating an explosion at a service station in County Donegal. They have started looking into more than 1,350 leads to find out what happened. Unfortunately, 10 people lost their lives in the incident.
Over 900 statements have been collected since the explosion in Creeslough on October 7, 2022.
The people who were hurt were from the village or nearby places. There were four men, three women, two teenagers, and a five-year-old girl.
As the one-year mark since the tragedy is getting closer, we still don’t know what caused it, and the police are still investigating.
The investigation is being managed from the Garda station in Milford.
Gardaí said in a statement on Thursday that they are working hard and quickly to professionally investigate all the details of this deadly explosion.
A special team with a police officer is still helping and supporting each of the families who have lost a loved one.
The police said that they were getting help from an organization called the Health and Safety Authority, another organization called the Commission for Regulation of Utilities, and a company from Norway called Det Norske Veritas (DNV), which is good at looking into and testing energy systems.
