A doctor in the British Army won an award for the best mullet hairstyle at a competition called the World Mullet Championships.
Dr Alastair Bush, from Bovington Camp in Dorset, said he was very happy to have won the trophy at the contest in New South Wales, Australia.
In February, the doctor went to Australia to compete in a pub competition in Kurri Kurri.
He won and was asked to come back for the finals, which was on Saturday at a motorsport park in the Hunter Valley.
Dr Bush said he spent two years working on a project to help Testicular Cancer UK by raising money and awareness.
He said, “It’s really great. ” I’m really excited about the news – really happy.
“Today was great. I had lots of fun, met some awesome people, and saw some really cool haircuts. ”
Dr Bush started growing his hair in the back during lockdown in October 2021, when he could not go to the barber shop.
Mulletfest started in 2018 in Kurri Kurri, a small town with 6,000 people about 80 miles north of Sydney. It brings in thousands of people from all over the world every year.
