Man in court after shooting spree in Liverpool

A 49-year-old man has gone to court for shooting people in Liverpool.

Gunshots were heard first at a shop, then outside a cinema, and at a nearby property on Wednesday night. No one got hurt.

Gunshots were heard at the News and Booze corner shop at 8:30pm. People in the area call it Sangha newsagents.

Approximately 20 minutes later, the workers at a Showcase Cinema in Stonedale retail park were scared when someone threatened them in the entrance area, and then a gun was shot into the air.

Around 10:20pm, more gunshots were heard at a house on Malpas Road.

Leslie Garrett from Ternhall Road, Liverpool, went to court on Saturday and was kept in custody.

He is accused of having a gun with the intent to harm someone, having two guns to scare people, and trying to rob someone.

He is also accused of having bullets without permission.

He was told to go to Liverpool Crown Court on February 5 and stay there.
