A surfer who made people laugh with his pet snake on his surfboard has been given a penalty.
Higor Fiuza, a person from the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, was spotted in Rainbow Bay multiple times with his pet snake named Shiva. They were seen together at least 10 times.
He said to Nine News: ‘She goes swimming for a bit and then returns to the surfboard – she’s just casually waiting for a wave – for the perfect wave.
She goes underwater and comes back up. She is always there, and I don’t have to save her.
‘She likes it because when she gets upset, she starts making hissing sounds. But when she’s surfing, she doesn’t do anything except hold on. ‘
A video of the two people surfing became very popular online earlier this month.
But Mr Fiuza admitted that what he does can be scary for some people and enjoyable for others.
A man got in trouble and had to pay money as a punishment for taking his pet snake surfing in Australia.
But the Department of Environment and Science in Queensland has now confirmed that Mr. Fiuza was fined $2,322 (1,207 pounds) for taking the reptile out in public without permission.
The wildlife officer, Jonathan McDonald, said that they noticed a man who was in the news for taking his python into the water.
“We don’t want people with permits to show their native animals in public, unless it’s for an approved reason and it’s done in a way that takes good care of the animal, keeps the public safe, and follows the rules. ”
“Bringing wild pets outside can make them feel stressed and act in unpredictable ways when they are taken away from their homes. ”
The department said that even though Mr. Fiuza was allowed to have the snake, he was not allowed to take it off his property.
Mr McDonald said: ‘Snakes are animals that are cold-blooded and they can swim, but reptiles usually try to stay away from water. ‘
The python might have felt that the water was very cold, and only sea snakes should be in the ocean.
