Man and two kids, ages 9 and 4, killed in car accident

The accident occurred on the A5 road close to Burbage in Leicestershire shortly before 4. 30pm on Friday

The man who was driving the car, who is in his thirties, and a little boy who is nine years old were declared dead right where the accident occurred.

Two more people, a woman who is in her 30s and a four-year-old girl, were quickly taken to the hospital, but unfortunately, the girl passed away soon after.

The woman is currently in the hospital. She is in a serious condition, but her condition is not getting worse.

The driver of the big truck was not badly hurt in the accident.

Detective Constable Anna Andrew expressed that this is a very sad and tragic event. Our condolences go out to the people who have passed away, their families, and everyone else who was involved or affected by this incident.

Emergency workers came to the area, and we appreciate that people from the public also helped when the accident occurred. We want to thank everyone who responded and assisted in this terrible and very upsetting situation.

We are helping and investigating the collision to find out everything about what happened. We are also supporting the families of the people involved.

The police want to talk to anyone who saw the accident or has a recording from their car’s dashboard camera.
