Israel has reported that 222 individuals are being held captive in Gaza after the attacks carried out by Hamas on 7 October.
Yarden Bibas, his wife Shiri, and their two children, four-year-old Ariel and nine-month-old Kfir, were taken away from Nir Oz, a community in southern Israel.
Yarden’s sister, Ofri Bibas Levy, told the BBC that their family was hiding in a safe room when her brother sent a message in their family Whatsapp group saying “here we go again. ” They thought it was a rocket attack from Gaza.
Afterwards, a friend sent her a video of the family being taken by force, with Shiri holding her children.
Ofri says she was very scared, more scared than she has ever been before.
Three days later, she got pictures of her brother with a wound on his head and it looked like someone was holding a hammer. Two weeks later, Ofri still doesn’t know what happened to the family.
