Israeli attack on bomb storage site results in the deaths of two Palestinians

Israeli forces attacked a place where bombs are kept in the part of the West Bank that Israel has taken control of. They killed two Palestinians during the attack, according to statements from officials and emergency workers.

The Israeli military went into a refugee camp in the northern part of the West Bank to destroy a place where militant leaders were giving orders.

Bombs exploded and militants threw explosives at Israeli forces near Nour Shams camp, located about two miles east of Tulkarem.

The military found dozens of dangerous things used for making bombs.

The statement said that during the activity, the suspects shot guns and threw bombs at the forces. The forces defended themselves by shooting back with real bullets.

During a six-hour operation before dawn, two Palestinians were shot in the head and killed by live bullets fired by Israeli forces, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
Palestinian health officials have named the two people who were killed as Osaid Abu Ali, aged 22, and Abd al-Rahman Abu Daghash, aged 32.

According to Reuters, they included a Hamas fighter who is associated with their armed group.

The Israeli army said a soldier was injured by pieces of a bullet.

The roads got really messed up when engineering vehicles were searching for explosives. They dug around and there was metal roofing and building rubble all over the place.

Around 13,500 Palestinian refugees are listed in the camp, says the UN. The camp is known for having many problems, such as a lack of jobs, too many people, and no proper sewage system.

Tensions have increased in the northern West Bank, causing more violence. Many people see this region as a test for Israel’s plan to remove itself from the occupied territory.
But Palestine says that Israel’s recent attacks are making their 56-year control of the West Bank even stronger, slowly weakening the Palestinian Authority government and not really stopping the fighting.

At least 190 Palestinians have died in the West Bank this year, as reported by The Associated Press.

Medical Aid for Palestinians, a non-profit organization in London, states that this year has been the most tragic for Palestinians in the region since the UN started keeping track in 2005.

Israel says that a lot of the people who were killed were fighters, and that 31 people were killed in Palestinian attacks on its soldiers this year.
