A adolescent who was brought to the hospital by a member of the public died in the parking lot, prompting police to launch an investigation.
Just after midnight on Sunday, Devon and Cornwall Police received a call about an incident at a house in Bodmin, Cornwall.
A number of people fled the scene while one, an 18-year-old guy, was critically hurt.
He was taken to Bodmin Hospital by a member of the public, but he sadly died of his injuries in the car park.
The victim has not yet been formally identified but his next of kin have been informed, police said.
A 17-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and an 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
A scene guard remains in the car park, but the hospital itself is open as usual.
Detective Inspector Ilona Rosson said: ‘We are appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of Wallace Street, Berrycombe Road, and the A389 between Cardell Road and Bodmin Hospital between 10pm Saturday July 22 and 1.30am on Sunday July 23.
‘We appreciate that this type of incident will come as a shock to the local community.
‘We ask that people refrain from speculating on social media and if you know anything that could assist with the investigation, that you contact the police immediately.’
She also asked for anyone with CCTV, doorbell camera or dashcam footage in the area the incident took place to get in touch.
