Former commander to take up new role as UK’s ambassador – Zelenskyy

The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he has allowed his ex-top general, who he fired last month, to be the new ambassador to the United Kingdom. This is important because the United Kingdom supports Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.

Last month, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy chose someone new to lead the Ukrainian military because the previous leader, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, was replaced. The change was made to try to get the war moving again because it was stuck.

“We should make our partnership with Britain even stronger,” said Zelenskyy.

Britain has been a good friend to Ukraine during the war, which has been going on for three years now.

Britain said on Thursday that they will give 10,000 drones to Ukraine.

Defense Secretary Grant Shapps said that during his visit to Kyiv with Zelenskyy, the UK will invest 125 million pounds (US$160 million) in addition to the 200 million pounds (US$256 million) already promised for drones.
