Driver acknowledges killing pupil during police pursuit in Nottingham

A man has confessed to causing the death of a mature student who was hit by a car that was being chased by the police in Nottingham.

Oshada Jayasundera, a 31-year-old student from Nottingham Trent University, was hit by a car on Huntingdon Street on December 13th and died at the spot.

Joshua Gregory admitted to causing a deadly car crash and was told he would go to jail for a long time.

Gregory, who is 27 years old, will find out his punishment on 28 March.

Gregory from Westfield Road in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, was put in jail.

The street in Nottingham city center, which is usually very busy, was closed for most of the day so that investigations could be done.

The police are being investigated because they were chasing a car.
