Deadly salmonella outbreak connected to snake and rodent contact – Canada’s public health agency

Canada’s public health agency is looking into a possible connection between a salmonella outbreak and being in contact with snakes and feeder rodents.

As of March 19, the agency reported 70 people getting sick from salmonella in one outbreak.

“Ten people have been taken to the hospital. ” One person has died from salmonella, according to public health officials. They sent this information to the media.

The virus has been found in eight provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Officials said that many people who got sick had either touched or been near the animals before. Some people didn’t touch the snakes or mice, but they lived in the same houses where they were kept.

“We don’t know where the snakes and feeder rodents came from,” the release said.
