Countries prepare for battle over fossil fuels at COP28 climate conference

Nearly 200 countries may soon agree to reduce the world’s use of coal, oil, and gas, as the final talks at the COP28 climate summit come to an end.

Old promise to reduce the use of fossil fuels has been changed, which has made some countries upset because they are at risk from climate change.

A bunch of little islands said the new plan was not good enough and didn’t have strong enough words about fossil fuels.

Nations are coming together at COP28 to figure out what to do about climate change – everyone needs to agree otherwise the plan falls apart.

Previously, the leader of the UN asked countries to stop using fossil fuels.
People burning fossil fuels is making the earth get too hot, which could hurt a lot of people. But all the governments haven’t decided to stop using them together.
