After a three-year-old was struck by a car, police are looking for witnesses.
This morning at 8:30 am, a collision occurred on Castlefields Way in Telford, Shropshire, not far from the intersection with Willow Bank.
Life-threatening injuries were sustained by the child, who was transferred to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
The wrecked vehicle was a white Vauxhall Corsa.
An individual, age 26, has been detained and is supporting the police with their investigations.
PC Mark Hobden, from West Mercia Police, said: ‘We are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision.
‘We would especially like to speak to the cars that were behind the white Vauxhall Corsa at the time of the collision.
‘We would urge them to come forward with any information and dash cam footage. Anyone with CCTV covering the area is also urged to come forward.’
It comes after a girl, 8, died when a car crashed into a school building in Wimbledon, south-west London.
A Land Rover collided with a wall at The Study Preparatory School on Camp Road shortly before 10am, and 16 people were injured.
