New report trooping in indicates that Wildfires in Canada have made the air quality worse than in the U.S.
The 6th Annual World Air Quality Report released on Tuesday, shows that for the first time, air in Canada is worse than air in the US. Out of the 15 cities with the most pollution in Canada and the United States, 14 were in Canada. The worst were Fort McMurray and Peace River in Alberta.
The air in Northern America was very affected by big fires in Canada in 2023. The fires burned a really large area for many months. “In 2023, Canada had more pollution than the United States for the first time ever in this report’s history. “
The report said that only seven countries have air that is clean enough according to the World Health Organization. Those countries are Australia, Estonia, Finland, Grenada, Iceland, Mauritius and New Zealand.
