Businessmen to send trucks carrying aid to Ukraine

Two business people are going to Ukraine to give a lot of donated supplies to help people living in the war.

Mike Racz and Karl Pemberton said they were really grateful for all the help they got from everyone. It was more than they ever expected.

The pair were going to use a small van for donations but now they will use two big trucks instead.

Mr Racz from Wolviston, County Durham, said he was surprised by the amount of help and support people had given.

Mr Racz’s friend, Kateryna Seranova, is from Ukraine and said her family is still in danger.

She said the mall that used to be the biggest was destroyed and no longer exists.

“It’s really important to know where to go and hide in safe places. ”

Mr Racz and Mr. Pemberton were worried because people were not giving as much money to Ukraine, even though the war was still happening during the winter.

Russia has kept attacking the country more and more in the last two weeks, especially by using planes to bomb Ukrainian cities.

A few days ago, two missiles from Russia hit a hotel in Kharkiv and hurt 11 people.

But the weather is also making a difference. On January 12, it was really cold in Kyiv, with the temperature dropping to -11°C at night.

Mr Pemberton, who is the boss at a company called Active Chartered Financial Planners in Stockton, said that it’s really important to give help to people now more than ever.

“He said the weather is really bad over there right now, it’s very cold. ”

“We can give them warm blankets, clothes, and food to help them during the cold winter. ”

“Everything makes a difference. “
