According to the White House, President Biden is “not a focus” on Donald Trump’s court appearance.
Trump was formally detained and will soon appear in court.
Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters at the monthly briefing that the President did not place a high focus on the significant legal case.
The president, as he does every day, will pay attention to the needs of the American people.
He doesn’t put much thought into this,
stated Jean-Pierre.
She continued: ‘When we first learned about the indictment, the president was not given a heads up. He was briefed his chief of staff, and he learned about this like all of you – through the reporting.’
Biden’s direct answer to questions about Trump’s court case has been ‘no comment, no comment, no comment’.
Jean-Pierre, said with a straight face that Biden ‘is focused on securing America’s energy independence’ at the briefing.
Jean-Pierre repeatedly declined to comment on the Trump indictment, saying that it’s an ongoing case.
She did say: However, that Mr Biden was sure to catch some of the “hours and hours” of coverage it’s getting.’
Biden previously said he had faith in the New York Police Department to handle any protests or unrest following Trump’s hearing on Tuesday.
‘We are prepared,’ Jean-Pierre said at the briefing.
