Nine people were arrested for stealing gold from Pearson International Airport last year, according to Peel Regional Police on Wednesday.
The police said they caught the people who stole things during a news conference one year after it happened.
The police have charged the suspects with 19 offenses, and they are looking to arrest three other suspects with warrants across Canada.
At a news conference on Wednesday morning, the police said that on the evening of April 17, 2023, someone stole 6,600 gold bars from Air Canada’s cargo facility. The suspect used a five-ton truck to get to the warehouse.
The police say the suspect got the stolen gold by giving fake paperwork to Air Canada staff.
