Early on Sunday morning, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck Pingyuan county in Shandong province, eastern China, wounding 21 people.
China Earthquake Networks Centre, a division of China Earthquake Administration, reported that the earthquake occurred at 2:33 a.m. local time with an epicentre that was 10 kilometres deep.
According to authorities, 21 residents of Dezhou and Liaocheng have reported injuries as of Sunday morning.
126 homes were reported to have collapsed due to the earthquake, according to state broadcaster CCTV.
Teams of urgent rescuers have been sent.
According to the Beijing Municipal Earthquake Bureau, the Chinese capital Beijing, which is more than 300 kilometres from the epicentre, experienced vibrations overnight.
On Sunday, Beijing Railway reported the cancellation of more than 60 trains.
