A shooting at an upscale mall in Bangkok‘s downtown left three people dead. A 14-year-old suspect has been detained, but it is still unclear what motivated him.
Witnesses described sheltering inside stores and restrooms after four further individuals were hurt.
The Reuters news agency reported that one of the injured is a foreigner.
The Thai prime minister claims that police responded immediately and has expressed his “deepest condolences” to the relatives of the victims.
The attack happened inside the upscale Siam Paragon shopping centre in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
After the incident, the centre was swiftly shuttered and its doors were evacuated.
The Siam metro station, which is next to the mall, was also closed.
