After growing ill on a journey from Istanbul to New York, an 11-year-old kid passed away.
About an hour and a half after takeoff on Sunday, the Turkish Airlines aircraft made an emergency landing in Hungary.
According to Hungarian media accounts, the infant was first given help by cabin crew before receiving CPR from a doctor who just happened to be on board.
When the jet touched down at Budapest International Airport, medical personnel were waiting to board, but the kid was beyond saving.
It’s thought the 11-year-old was a US citizen with a disability and was travelling with his family.
A spokesperson from the airport said: ‘Airport Medical Service (AMS), the medical service operating at Ferenc Liszt International Airport, was alerted to the aircraft and continued to resuscitate the child
‘Despite the rapid and professional intervention, unfortunately, his life could not be saved. The aircraft continued its journey to its original destination.’
Officials have not commented on the cause of death.
