Gospel sensation Philipa Baafi is throwing her full support behind fellow artist Nacee, tipping him for the coveted ‘Artiste of the Year’ award at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
Despite fierce competition from notable names like King Promise, Stonebwoy, and Sarkodie, Philipa sees Nacee as a standout candidate, particularly due to his impactful track “Aseda,” which resonated widely throughout the past year.
Philipa commends Nacee’s unwavering dedication and hard work, which she believes have distinguished him and positioned him as a frontrunner for the prestigious award.
In a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz, she expressed, “Gospel music has made significant strides, thanks to God and the remarkable achievements of artists like Diana Hamilton, Joe Mettle, Piesie Esther, and others who have brought honor to us all. Therefore, it’s no surprise to me that Nacee, who has consistently put in the effort, has earned a well-deserved spot this year. I’m confident he will clinch the top prize in that category; his song is impactful and has garnered substantial traction.”
Apart from her endorsement of Nacee, Philipa is gearing up to celebrate her 25th year in the music industry with upcoming festivities, all while promoting her latest release, “Eda Ho Pefee.”
The highly anticipated 2024 TGMA ceremony is scheduled to take place at the prestigious Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Saturday, June 1st.
