Former girlfriend of dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, has made known her stance on the issue of homosexuality and the presence of the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana.
Shatta Michy does not subscribe to the idea of same-sex relations. She made known her position on the matter that has gotten the entire country talking since 2021 during an interview with Abeiku Santana.
According to Shatta Michy, she is elated by the fact that Parliament is working on illegalizing homosexual activities.
She noted that this is an initiative being spearheaded by the West that must not be tolerated as it goes contrary to Ghana’s tradition.
“I was happy when some MPs introduced the anti-LGBTQ bill. That is not our culture. I feel the West are grooming the next generation in subtle ways and I’m not happy about it,” she said.
She recounted an event where her son had an encounter with same-sex relationship in a story book. This took her by surprise as she did not expect such content in a book for children.
“It is in the education they give to the kids. We have a selection of Shakespeare books, summarized stories. Recently, I asked my son to read the book and tell me the story later. After reading, he told me that there was this girl dressed up as a boy and she fell in love with another girl and there was a guy who wore female parts.”
For Shatta Michy, heterosexual activities is the way to go as prescribed by God Almighty.
“God didn’t create Adam and Adam. I believe that woman is sweet. Abeiku, as an experienced man, you know. How then do you go for the hard backside,” she stated.
