Renowned Nigerian actress, Rita Dominic, recently unveiled the authentic reasons behind her decision to tie the knot in her forties, emphasizing her desire to marry at her own pace rather than succumbing to societal expectations.
In an exclusive interview with Lexis Bill on Joy FM, Dominic highlighted her steadfast commitment to marrying for genuine reasons and not yielding to societal pressures.
Despite facing external pressure to marry early, the actress remained resolute, asserting, “Like I always said, I will marry the man of my dreams and not the man of society’s dreams for me, because if anything goes wrong tomorrow, I’ll be the one left to pack up the pieces and not the society. I wanted to be sure that I was marrying for the right reasons and not for the reasons, you know, that stems from societal pressure,” Rita Dominic said.
Dominic emphasised the importance of ensuring that her decision was based on the right reasons rather than succumbing to societal expectations.
Rita Dominic, who married Fidelis Anosike, founder of Folio Media Group, nearly two years ago, expressed her belief that she married at the perfect time and found the right life partner.
The couple’s traditional wedding in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, in April 2022, became a widely-discussed event with the attendance of numerous celebrities.
The actress and her husband later held a private white wedding at Selby Abbey, North Yorkshire, England, in November 2022.
Reflecting on her marital journey, Dominic shared with Lexis Bill that the experience has been fulfilling and enjoyable.
She revealed, “We were friends for a long time, then we found love and dated and then got married,” shedding light on the evolution of her relationship with her husband.
