Renowned Nigerian artist Davido, recognized for his contributions as a singer, songwriter, and record producer, faced disappointment as he lost all three of his Grammy Awards nominations.
The setback occurred shortly after his nomination in three distinct categories, including Best Global Album for his latest release, “Timeless.”
His other two nominations were in the categories of Best African Performance for the track “Unavailable” and Best Global Music Performance for the song “Feel.”
Despite the anticipation and excitement surrounding his first-ever triple Grammy nomination, Davido unfortunately left the ceremony without any accolades.
However, South Africa’s latest budding talent, Tyla has won her first ever Grammy for Best African Performance for her smash hit song, ‘Water’.
Tyla’s ‘Water’ won above other hit songs in the Best African Music Performance Grammy with songs such as Nigerian singers: Davido’s ‘Unavailable,’ Asake’s ‘Amapiano,’ Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys,’ and Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush.’ not being a match.
The 22 year old picked up the award, presented at the Grammy Award Premiere Ceremony at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.
