Forgive Chef Smith, he has acknowledged his wrongdoing – Nacee

Gospel artist Nacee has issued a public apology to Ghanaians for unintentionally endorsing Chef Smith‘s false Guinness World Record claim.

In a video shared on X by Eddiehub, Nacee is seen kneeling during an interview at Peace FM, expressing regret for using his influence to promote Chef Smith’s achievement without verifying its authenticity.

Nacee explained that he believed Chef Ebenezer Smith deserved more recognition during his cook-a-thon, prompting him to support and congratulate the chef.

However, Chef Smith later confessed to fabricating the GWR certificate, leading to public disappointment.
Nacee pleaded with the public to forgive Chef Smith for his actions.

“Chef Smith has apologised. What he did was wrong, let’s all try and forgive him,” Nacee stated.

Chef Smith, who aimed to break a cooking record, conducted a 35-day cooking marathon from February 1 to March 6, totaling 802 hours and 25 minutes. He initially claimed to have set a new record but was later arrested for alleged fraud after his claim was disputed by GWR.

In an emotional interview with Serwaa Amihere on GH One TV, Chef Smith expressed remorse for deceiving the public and apologized for his actions.

He explained that his desire to showcase his cooking talent drove him to falsify the certificate, saying, “I render a very big apology on this platform, and I apologize to the world. I am deeply sorry for misleading everyone. I was driven by my ambition to earn a living, and I regret how it has turned out.”
