In a vivid demonstration of unwavering dedication and commitment, Medeama has emerged as the undisputed champion of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.
This resounding victory not only cements their place in the annals of Ghanaian football history but also grants them the prestigious opportunity to represent the nation as the sole participant in the upcoming CAF Champions League.
Kurt Okraku delivered this statement during the official launch of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League in Koforidua.
“Our meeting here today is the testament to the efforts the GFA is making to take the GPL and other products of the football association closer to the homes of Ghanaians who remain passionate about our football the passion of our dear nation,” he said.
“At this point I will like to say a hearty congratulations to Medeama Sporting Club on their remarkable victory in the 2022/23 Premier League season.
“Indeed your dedication, teamwork, and unwavering commitment has truly shown throughout the year resulting in a well deserved Championship,” he ended.
The launch event was graced by President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku and Mark Addo, the Vice President of the Association.
In attendance were Executive Council Members Nana Sarfo Oduro and Linford Asamoah Boadu. The special guest of honor for the occasion was Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong, the Eastern Regional Minister.
His ambition to stand for re-election during the 29th Ordinary Congress of the Association in Kumasi has been endorsed by two prominent football chiefs.
The Chairmen of the Western and Greater Accra regional Football Associations have publicly expressed their support for Okraku’s re-election.
Their endorsement comes as a valuable show of support for his candidacy.
During a radio interview following the conclusion of the Western Regional Division 2 Middle league, Simon Ehomah, the Western Regional FA boss, praised Okraku’s leadership and the positive impact he has had on Ghanaian football.
He credited a significant portion of the success achieved during his regime to the contribution and support of the current GFA President.
“All that I’m doing has been made possible because of Kurt (Okraku). So I will plead with all the premier and division one league clubs to rally behind him and support him,” Mr Ehomah told West Gold Radio in Takoradi.
He went further to throw his unflicnhing support to the GFA boss, a move that was supported by the Greater Accra RFA Chairman, Samuel Aboabire.
“I vehemently declare my backing for Kurt(Okraku),” Simon Ehomah said.
Mr Aboabire quipped,”If you are for Kurt I am for Game Changer”. Kurt Okraku is dubbed the ‘Game Changer’ a slogan championed while camoaignign for election in his first term.
Simon Ehomah cited the good works accomplished under the Kurt E.S Okraku administration despite being faced with the Covid-19 pandemic and other challenging situations.
He touted the GFA President’s down to earth but hardworking nature and believes these are leadership traits.
“He is really working hard.He is humble and offers a listening ear to almost every stakeholder. He is readily available whenever we call on him to suggest changes to help the game grow,” he concluded.
The GFA is yet to announce a date for the elective Congress which will determine the retention or otherwise of Mr Okraku as its leader.
Ghanaian youth coach based in Sweden, Jeff Ofori has played down the claims made by the President of the Ghana Football Association,Kurt Okraku, regarding his commitment to the development of colts football in Ghana.
In response to Okraku’s speech at the 29th Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association, Jeff Ofori dismissed the promises made by Okraku to make significant investments in colts football.
In an interview, Ofori revealed how Ghana Football missed out on a substantial investment opportunity from a Swedish company due to the deliberate actions of individuals within the association.
Ofori explained that he had been working for more than five years to secure funding from a company called SupercoachApp for grassroots football development.
He explained that the company and officials of the FA held a series of meetings but after a meeting with Kurt Okraku and other FA officials in February 2022, the FA’s countenance with respect to the deal changed completely.
“The FA are not interested in developing grassroots football. What Kurt Okraku said at the congress is mere politics and nothing else. I’m saying this because I have made efforts to secure funding from Swedish company to invest in our grassroots football.
He explained that Supercoach is a multinational football development organization that seeks to drive the progress of football through modern technology.
In his lamentations, coach Ofori said that had the FA opened it doors Supercoach, Ghanaian juvenile clubs and coaches would have been exposed to technological facilities and innovations that would have aided in their work and ensure development of grassroots football.
“It took me five years to work on this deal and after the people finally agreed to come to Ghana, the FA people collapsed the deal.
They came here and we held meetings with the technical director and Kurt Okraku as well but the FA have been playing hardball since.
“I have lost the trust of the company because they feel I let them. They were really interested in helping develop grassroots football. They had budget of over $50,000 that they wanted to pump into our football but Kurt and his people were not interested.”
Coach Ofori believes that the turning point that triggered the collapse of the deal was when the Swedish firm disclosed that the amount involved was not going to be handed to the FA but rather, the company will work with the FA to ensure that the monies are spent judiciously and accounted for.
“They started dragging their feet when they realize that the money was not going to come to them directly. The company wanted to be deeply involved in the execution of the partnership so the FA people decided to pull back”, he said.
His comments come on the back of Kurt Okraku’s promise to support all 48 division one league clubs with GH₵80,000.
Speaking at the 29th Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association, held at KNUST Great Hall in Kumasi on Monday, July 10, Kurt Okraku opines that, amid the many challenges confronting Ghana football, the association is doing its bid to ignite passion and create wealth for all.
According to Kurt Okraku, “Division One clubs will each now receive GHC 80,000 next season as incentives”, he said.
Former vice president of the Ghana Football Association, George Afriyie, claims that Kurt Okraku, the FA’s president, did not provide funding for the distribution of football boots to all Division One and Premier League Clubs.
Kurt Okraku promised all Division One League clubs would receive 30 football boots annually at the start of the 2022–23 betPawa Premier League, and he more than kept his word in the recently concluded 2022–23 campaign.
A total number of One Thousand Four Hundred and Forty (1,440) pair of boots was supplied to the 48 Division One League clubs and Five Hundred and forty (540) pair of boots were delivered to the Premier League clubs, taking the number of boots to be shared to One Thousand nine hundred and eighty (1,980).
According to the astute football administrator, “Kurt Okraku never funded the distribution of football boots to Premier and Division One League clubs”, he told Angel TV.
However, speaking at the 29th Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association, held at KNUST Great Hall in Kumasi on Monday, July 10, Kurt Okraku opined that, amid the many challenges confronting Ghana football, the association is doing its bid to ignite passion and create wealth for all.
According to Kurt Okraku “Division One clubs will each now receive GHC 80,000 next season as incentives”, he said.
George Afriyie is among the candidates who have shown interest to compete in the next GFA presidential election which is slated for October 2023.
FIFA has officially acknowledged the submission of a petition concerningKurt Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The petition, which alleges violations of FIFA’s Statutes, was received by the organization on July 7, 2023.
In response, FIFA has stated that it may commence preliminary investigations into the reported breaches of its Statutes, as brought forward by the Whistle-blower, Akwasi Ossei Nkrumah.
“Following an evaluation of the documents and information submitted, the Secretariat may initiate preliminary investigations into a potential breach of the FCE following instructions from the Chairperson of the Investigatory Chamber in accordance with Article 61 FCE,” portion of the confirmation email said.
FIFA would, however, not comment further on the questions asked by JoySports’ Muftawu Nabila Abdulai, who sought clarity on the matter reportedly submitted to the Independent Investigatory Chamber.
“We are not in a position to provide you any further information regarding the state of the proceedings (if any),” it stated.
On Friday, July 7, 2023, media reports suggested that one Akwasi Ossei Nkrumah filed a petition at the FIFA Ethics Committee, enumerating the following:
(a) Breach of Article 25 of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2023 (Forgery and Falsification)
(b) Breach of Article 20 of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2023 (Conflict of Interest)
(c) Breach of Article 26 of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2023 (Abuse of Position)
(d) Breach of Article l6 of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2023 (Duty of loyalty)
(e) Breach of Article 30 of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2023 (Manipulation of Football Matches or Competitions)
He alleged that the GFA President, Mr Okraku, is the director of Dreams Football Club, a Ghana Premier League Club, and acts same for Proton Sports Services, a player and match agencycontrary to the FIFA Statutes.
Ossei Nkrumah also listed a plethora of things he claims the GFA President is engaged in the detriment of football development in Ghana.
During the GFA 29th Ordinary Congress in Kumasi on July 10, Kurt sought to suggest he was been witch-hunted by members of the football ecosystem, stating that, “…by virtue of where I sit, I hold files that can defame and malign people in Ghana football ecosystem. But I would not do that.”
Kurt Okraku was voted president of GFA in October 2019, and he’s seeking re-election for a second tenure in office.
Under this program, clubs will receive a financial package of GH₵50,000 to encourage the promotion and development of young players within their club structures.
During the 29th GFA Ordinary Congress held at the KNUST Great Hall on July 10, Okraku announced that clubs will be eligible for an extra GH₵25,000 if two of their youth team players participate in more than 15 games.
This incentive aims to further incentivize clubs to provide opportunities for young talents and prioritize their growth and involvement in competitive matches.
“Each Ghana Premier League club is to be supported with GHC50,000 for setting up a youth team. Clubs would also get GHC 25,000 when two of their youth players team players feature in more than 15 games”, he said.
The GFA’s financial support for youth team establishment and player development demonstrates their commitment to nurturing young talents and strengthening the grassroots football system in Ghana.
The four-year term for Kurt’s administration will come to an end on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
The Elections Committee has already submitted the road map for the 2023 GFA Elections, which will be made available to the public in the near future.
Notable among candidates who have expressed interest in the GFA President are, George Afriyie, former Vice President of the GFA, Kojo Yankah, former Regional Football Association (RFA) for Western Region, and Bernard Amofah Jantuah of Berekum Chelsea.
President of theGhana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has issued a cautionary response to Akwasi Ossei Nkrumah, a sports enthusiast who submitted a petition to FIFA.
A document circulating on social media contained allegations from the petitioner, accusing Okraku of potential and actual violations of the FIFA Code of Ethics.
The petitioner called for an immediate investigation into the conduct of the FA boss.
Kurt at the 29th Ordinary Congress held at the KNUST Great Hall in Kumasi on Monday, July 1, in his speech, issued a strong warning saying “By virtue of where I sit, I hold files that can defame and malign people in the Ghana football ecosystem. But I would not do that!”
The petitioner in his document called out Kurt Okraku for forgery, falsification, and nepotism in GFA appointments, abuse of position, manipulation of matches or competitions, and duty of loyalty as the basis for the FIFA investigation.
That notwithstanding, Okraku in many of his speeches said he would not engage in defamatory actions but did not tackle the alleged acts labeled against him.
It is uncertain when FIFA will respond to the allegations against the FA President but the ‘Game Changer’ remains focused on delivering on his mandate of ‘Creating Wealth for All’ as he seeks another term in office when the GFA Election comes on in October 2023.
Speaking at the GFA’s Congress in Kumasi, Okraku expressed the association’s commitment to easing the financial burden on clubs by facilitating the payment of referee fees.
Okraku revealed that a sum of GHS300,000 will be invested in supporting the payment of referees in regional matches.
This initiative aims to alleviate the financial strain on clubs and ensure fair compensation for the referees’ services.
By taking this step, the GFA demonstrates its dedication to enhancing the integrity and smooth operation of regional matches by providing the necessary financial support to referees.
“We will invest GHS300,000 to help in the payment of referee fees in regions. Clubs don’t have to take the burden alone,” Okraku stated.
The Congress, held at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), saw Okraku address various issues and make promises that were well received by stakeholders in attendance.
However, Okraku also emphasised the importance of protecting Ghanaian football and highlighted the efforts made by him and the Executive Council to restore its reputation and revitalize the national football brand.
“I’m not interested in destroying the brand, Ghana football. If indeed you love Ghana football, you should be interested in building the brand and not being destroyed.
“When we took over, this brand was badly damaged,” Okraku asserted.
He further underlined his commitment to strengthening the sport’s foundation and ensuring its long-term growth and success.
The Congress provided an opportunity for stakeholders to unite in their efforts to support and develop Ghana football, with Okraku’s announcement regarding referee payments reflecting the association’s dedication to fair play and the sustainable development of the sport.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has urged its members to support the proposed new nomination fees for the upcoming Presidential and Executive Council elections.
This call comes in response to concerns raised by New Edubiase United, a Division One League Club, about the current leadership allegedly pressuring members to sign documents to extend the election timeline beyond their mandate.
The GFA has reassured members that there is no coercion involved and that the aim of the new nomination fees is to facilitate the smooth organization of the elections.
“…the Executive Council of the GFA proposed in item 12 of the agenda an “Approval of GFA Election Nominations Fees”. On what basis are we going to discuss this matter, when members do not even know when the GFA elections would be held?
“We have also been made aware of the GFA’s deliberate attitude of:
a. coercing some members of the GFA to secretly sign documents in order to postpone the GFA Elections, which is arguably supposed to take place this year to a later date;
b. coercing some members of the GFA to secretly sign documents giving authority to the GFA Executive Council to amend Articles 31 and 32 and in particular Article 32 (2) (q) of the GFA Statutes 2019.”
But, the FA through its General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, said the claims and fears are from the truth.
“Your fear that the GFA Election would be held beyond the mandate of the current Executive Council is not supported by the facts,” a portion of the letter said.
“You presented your club at the recent engagement by the Executive Council with Division One clubs (same engagements were held with GPL, WPL clubs, etc).
“At the meetings, members(clubs) were informed categorically that an Elective Congress will be held before the end of the mandate of the current Executive Council.
“You were also informed that the Election Committee had held meetings and was working on the Roadmap and would ensure that the elections take place as required by the GFA Statutes,” it stated.
The letter, however, drew New Edubiase’s attention to the fact that there’s a proposal before Congress seeking approval of new nomination fees for the elections.
The proposal, submitted on June 24, 2023, suggested that the nomination fee of the President be increased from GHC 5,000 to GHC 50,000 while that of the Executive Council will be increased from GHC 2,500 to GHC 15,000.
“…the Election Committee will need the approved Nomination Fee from the Congress of the 10th of July 2023 before Nominations are opened by including the fees in the Election Roadmap and Guidelines,” the letter stated.
The GFA will assemble in Kumasi for its 29th Ordinary session of Congress. The approval of the new nomination fees will pave the way for the roadmap for the elections to be organised later this year.
Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has allegedly been leveraging on his position to enable his close associates, including his relatives to amass wealth.
Ghanaian football coach and sports pundit, Christopher Nimley, levelled this allegation against Mr Kurt Okraku while speaking on Citi FM last week Friday.
“If you can exhibit gross level of nepotism, you will be afraid. If you could tell the whole country that you are coming in as FA to create wealth for all. He said under my administration football will create wealth for everybody,” he said.
In his submission, Mr Nimley listed some 18 individuals who have obtained positions they are not suitable for under the administration of the incumbent GFA president.
They include Winifred Mawudeko Okraku, a sister of Kurt Okraku, who is now the Director at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence and Micheal Osekere, a friend and a close confidant of Kurt Okraku who has been appointed as Chief of Staff at the GFA.
He argued that “these are people who have close ties with Kurt Okraku and they are the people amassing wealth in our football.”
He holds the assertion that Mr Kurt Okraku can not contest to retain his position as GFA president owing to his inappropriate behaviour.
“The position given to them by Kurt Okraku is one of the fundamental reasons why he cannot go for the election,” he stated.
In June this year, the former chairman of the Western Regional Football Association,
In June this year, the former chairman of the Western Regional Football Association, Kojo Yankah, revealed his intent to run for the upcoming Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential election.
“I am fully prepared, and the time has come for me to make a lasting impression on Ghana Football. The Ghana FA needs a fresh administration, and I am the right person for the job. People’s passion for Ghanaian football has waned, and I am determined to restore it,” he said on Onua TV.
Mr Kurt Okraku is also seeking a re-election when his term expires in October 2023.

George Afriyie, president of Susubiribi Sporting Club, is reluctant to disclose any plans of a comeback in the contest for theGhana Football Association presidency.
In the 2019 elections, the previous FA vice president ran but was defeated by Mr. Kurt Okraku.
Numerous football administrators are anticipated to run for president since Mr. Okraku’s term ends in October of this year.
When asked if he would run for president of the GFA in the upcoming elections, Mr. Afriyie declined to say yes or no.
“As to whether I will contest or not, I cannot confirm but I know that our league is ongoing, the Black Queens are also preparing for their qualifiers and by June, the football season will end,” the former Black Stars Management Committee chairman told Kumasi based Sompa FM.
“By October 2023, Kurt Okraku must hand over power to himself or to somebody and that is what is in our status.
“Definitely, there would be timelines for elections but as we speak, there is none and as to whether I am preparing or not, time will tell,” he added.
The appointment was questioned by Scott Geelan, who is well-known for sharing scouting data and information about Ghanaian athletes. He called the FA “shameless corrupt” and questioned the appointment.
“Surely not? On what basis was this appointment made? Apparently just another friend of Kurt Okraku given some bizarre role within the FA with no clear scope, no evidence of a competitive process & no track record of success. Shamelessly corrupt, if true.”
Ameenu Shadow responded to Scott Geelan’s tweet by attempting to expose him for attempting to once serve as the team’s scout.
“It is the so-called ‘shamelessly corrupt’ process that you wanted to benefit from when you begged me to put in a word for you to land a job with the national team. Why don’t you go begging people within the UK federations for work? Why are you so obsessed with Ghana?” he questioned.
But Geelan bounced back, displaying details of a conversation he had with Shadow who disclosed to have recommended him for an appointment as a Black Stars scout.
“Hilarious, someone tell @alooameenu to unblock me. This is a lie but not a surprise that he’d stoop to “go find a job in your country” & this rubbish. I was contacted first, had already worked on a project (free of charge) for the GFA (2021 AFCON U20) & NEVER asked for a job, he tweeted with a photo of the chat.
On March 23, 2023, the Black Stars’ match against Angola at the Kumasi Sports Stadium will serve as Shadow’s debut as team manager.
Later in March, the 2023 AFCON qualifying matches resume with a doubleheader between Ghana and Angola.
The Black Stars will play the Palancas Negras (Black Antelopes) in their own backyard four days after the match in Kumasi.
For full transparency, Ameenu followed me & subsequently contacted me to discuss national team players for Ghana. We had a few calls, over Zoom, whilst he was at university & I said I was happy to talk to other people about the players. Never asked for a job – I had one.
Prosper Harrison Addo, general secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has remarked that it is absurd to claim that Black Stars player selections are made by president Kurt Okraku.
He claims there is no basis for the accusation.
Prosper Harrison Addo remarked, “It’s funny to suggest Kurt Okraku determines the decision for the Black Stars,” during a conversation on Citi FM on March 10 on Friday.
The Ghana FA General Secretary continued to explain, “These are all kinds of accusations without facts. There is a process. No one person, the head coach alone does not make the squad. He discusses it with his team and they present it to the management committee. If it is good then it will come out.
“Nobody imposes a player on a coach.”
He further advised that if anyone does not like a certain player they should not expect that a coach will not invite that player.
Kurt Okraku, says that the introduction of e-ticketing was a factor in the low attendance atGhana Premier League games.
The low patronage ranks highly on the list of difficulties that the 2022–2023 betPawa Ghana Premier League season has faced.
Kurt Okraku thinks that the introduction of e-ticketing has created a significant issue, despite the fact that many have blamed the calibre of pitches, officiating, and level of competition for the decline in attendance.
Kurt Okraku thinks the Ghana Premier League should have gradually implemented the e-ticketing system, which was implemented for the Black Stars’ FIFA World Cup playoff match against Nigeria in March 2022.
“I see a lot of fans go to the stadiums like Bechem, Bibiani, Dawu, and Aduana but the venues where fans are not patronising the league are the Accra Sports Stadium and the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.”
“Deployment of electronic ticketing system has been a major problem. I believe the football people needed a lot of education before it was introduced. So since the introduction of the e-ticketing patronage of the league at the Accra Sports Stadium and Baba Yara has been low,” he said on Asempa FM.
He added that the GFA will meet with the National Sports Authority to review the e-ticketing system being used in the Ghana Premier League.
Dan Kwaku Yeboah, a sports presenter, has praised Kurt Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association, for having a significant impact on the lives of certain former Ghanaian football heroes.
Dan Kwaku Yeboah, a fierce opponent of Kurt Okraku, was moved when people like Dong Bortey and Armah Senegal emphasised the important role the GFA president plays in their life.
The sports journalist was impressed when Dong Bortey said that Kurt Okraku motivated him to start coaching in a recent interview.
“If you know Kurt Okraku, Don Bortey says he is grateful. You have affected his career positively and it’s commendable,” Dan Kwaku Yeboah said in gratitude to the GFA president.
He added, “in this world if someone does something you have to commend him and criticize them if they go wrong.”
“Most the players say you have helped them after their playing career by paving doors for them. Armah Senegal testified of his good works, so Kurt thank you,” Dan Kwaku Yeboah said.
Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu, a former midfielder for Ghana, has begged the government to pay off debts owed to the Black Satellites squad that won the 2009 U-20 World Cup in Egypt.
After overcoming Brazil 4-3 on penalties, Agyeman Badu hit the game-winning penalty as Ghana became the first African nation to win the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The government has yet to deliver the supplies promised to the Black Satellites, who were then led by Sellas Tetteh.
According to Great Olympics midfielder, the government should deliver on their promise since most of the team members are in dire need of financial help.
“I know the package the government did for us when we won the under 20 World Wup 2009 is 15 years but I’m pleading if they can do something about it to release the money to some of our colleagues and the technical team,” the former Asante Kotoko and Udinese Calcio midfielder posted on Facebook.
“We won’t wait for anything to happen and come and pretend on camera. Please, hear us out. Thank you.”
Sellas Tetteh, who led the team to win the trophy has also disclosed that he has yet to receive payment for leading Ghana to victory at the tournament.
“I have been discussing with Kurt Okraku [Ghana Football Association president] because since we, the technical team when we won the World Cup they didn’t pay us any money,” he told Sports Obama TV.
“They didn’t pay us any money. There was a document for it. I went and discussed that with Kurt Okraku. At least they were supposed to give us $4000.
“As for the players their money and all those things, they were not paid anything. They kept it in an account for them. I have spoken to the people in charge and Kurt Okraku but he has been busy because of the World Cup. I will try and meet him and talk to him” he added.
President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Okraku has refused to accept responsibility for the Ghana Premier League’s underwhelming support.
The Ghana Premier League has been hit with poor stadium attendance in recent weeks at the various stadia across the country.
The low patronage of the domestic top-flight has become a major concern for stakeholders, with some blaming the media for the low attendance at stadium.
With many pointing fingers at the Ghana FA, Kurt Okraku believes club owners have not done enough to win back supporters to the stadium.
“Our fans are absent, our spectators are absent, we playing football, we doing the business of football bout our fans are not consuming our football. It should be a concern to every club owner that your fans are far away from your clubs and this is not the responsibility of the FA, it’s your responsibility”
“There are other competing entertainment opportunities for every person and if you are not practical, proactive and don’t put up strategies that will bring back your fans believe me, your fans will not come. We need to be pragmatic, scientific and we need to go back to the basics on how to win the twelve man back into our football”
“Usually, it’s very normal for everybody to point fingers at Ghana FA but it’s a lie, it’s your time to do some work, it’s your time as club owners and executives to listen to your fans, go to your fans, find their worries and wore them back and this is a challenge I throw to each one of us. We love our football; we want more money in football but we can’t be sleeping. We have to think about how to win the supporters back to the stadium”

President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has disclosed some benefits their partnership deal with Uber will provide football fans.
GFA has signed a three-year contract with Uber as the official e-hailing partner.
Per the agreement, Uber is obliged to come up with tailor made services for football fans who travel far and near to watch the domestic Leagues and national team matches in the Greater Accra Region, Kumasi, Cape Coast, Tamale, Takoradi and Sunyani.”Today Uber being a partner of the FA and Uber will be offering mazing transport experience for all our fans across the country who consume our domestic Leagues (Premier League, Division One League, Women’s Premier League) and all our national team matches at very affordable discounted rates,” Okraku said.”What that means is that you can now make money via FootyCash and that money will allow you to pay for your transport which is discounted, safe, available and assured during all matchdays, domestic and International.
‘’These services will be available in all the Regions that the Uber service is available i.e., Greater Accra, Kumasi, Cape Coast, Sunyani and Takoradi.
“It is a happy day because one penny saved is one penny richer by the day. We care about you; we care about who you are and we care about your well-being.

Ghana Football Association [GFA] President, Kurt Okraku says Kwesi Nyantakyi must be applauded for leading the country to three consecutive Fifa World Cups.
Mr. Nyantakyi led the country to secure its maiden Mundial appearance in 2006 in Germany.
Subsequently, Ghana played in the 2010 and 2014 global showpieces in South Africa and Brazil respectively all under the auspices of Kwesi Nyantakyi.
However, the team failed to qualify for the last edition hosted in Russia in 2018.
Speaking at the launch of a Talent Identification Programme, Kurt Okraku praised Nyantakyi’s successes with the Black Stars.
“Let me say ‘ayekoo’ to our former president, Nyantakyi who took Ghana to the world in 2006, 2010, and 2014,” he said.
“If we understand what it means to be at the Mundial, we will give Kwesi Nyantakyi a standing ovation”.
Ghana’s best run at the World Cup was a quarter-final finish in 2010. This comes after a Round of 16 debuts in 2006.
Unfortunately, the 2014 edition is one to forget as the Black Stars exited on the group stage.
However, the West African country has made a return to the Mundial scheduled to be hosted in Qatar from November 20 to December 18.
Ghana has been housed in Group H alongside Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay.
President Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku says Ghana Football Association stands to make a lot gains if the Elite Talent Identification Program is judiciously followed and implemented. He was speaking at the launch of the Elite Talent Identification Program on Wednesday.
The Elite Talent Identification Program is a comprehensive blueprint that seeks to drive the talent identification agenda of the GFA across the various Districts and Regions of Ghana.
These talents would be selected from the Communities, Districts and Regions of Ghana to form the base of the U-15 male and female national teams after which successful talents will progress to the Black Starlets and later to the Black Stars level.
‘’If we believe in this vision, if we keep to this vision and if we follow this vision, we will not only go to Qatar and come back, we will go the next one in the United States and Canada and the one after because for our collective good tomorrow e are making huge sacrifices and investments today’’ he said.‘’And hopefully when we have served and gone, those who will take over from us will taker us to the promise land because of the investment we are making today’’.
“The road ahead will be rough and muddy but as a family and a unit that believe in the vision of investing our tomorrow, we will get there,” he added.
Ghana FA president Kurt Okraku has said that the Black Stars will not be underrated by any opponent at the 2022 World Cup.
Ghana eliminated Nigeria in the World Cup playoff on aggregate to qualify for the Mundial in March.
The team has been engaging in a series of friendly games as part of preparations ahead of the tournament.
Ghana lost 3-0 to five-time World Champions Brazil in an international friendly played in France last Friday.
According to Kurt Okraku, despite the Black Stars’ defeat to Brazil, the countries to play Ghana in Group H will not underrate the four-time African champions.
“The group is not easy, there are very good teams, but Ghana is not an easy rival either,” he told deia.eus.
Ghana will open their campaign against Portugal on November 24 at Stadium 974 in Doha.
Four days later, the Black Stars return to action with a clash with South Korea at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.
Ghana will wrap up their group stage adventure with their much-anticipated encounter with Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.
The former FA Cup chairman was elected as the country’s football governing body in 2019.
Under his administration, the Black Stars have made a return to the World Cup after missing out in 2018.
Kurt Okraku however came under intense criticism following Black Stars’ poor performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] in Cameroon.
Takyi Arhin affectionately known as Thunder in the football circle says Kurt Okraku deserves to be re-elected as the Football Association’s capo due to his achievement so far in office.
“You don’t need to be told. Kurt Okraku should be handed a second term based on his work. If there is even a third term, he should continue, there are no two ways about that,” he told Kessben FM/TV.
“He has done an excellent job. Take a look at the coaching courses he’s implemented, the catch-them-young programs he’s set up for aspiring refs, and the partnerships he’s secured. My impression is that Kurt’s administration is doing well,” he concluded.
The Black Satellites have also won the WAFU Zone B Championship under the administration of Kurt Okraku.
Meanwhile, Kurt Okraku’s fate will be decided when they go to the polls next year

The GFA President indicated that the technical team has done a wonderful job with the Black Galaxies.

The Black Galaxies will leave the shores of Ghana on Friday for the game. Kick-off is scheduled at 15:00GMT.

The 2023 CHAN is scheduled to be hosted in Algeria.
Inaki Williams of Athletic Bilbao claims that the offseason was the ideal time to switch allegiance to Ghana after playing for Spain and that he won’t regret his choice. The 28-year-old, whose parents are Ghanaians and who were born in Bilbao, played for Spain’s Under-21 squad and also had one senior team appearance in a friendly match against Bosnia in 2016.
The attacker feels firm that he is wasting his prime years waiting for his next call-up to the international team after six years of being ignored by Spain, and he may now play at this year’s World Cup. Williams declared, “I have my African ancestry and Ghanaian blood while being born in Europe.
“I think this is the best moment to make that decision. I don’t think I will regret it, because these opportunities only come once. I wasn’t going to have this opportunity again, and I think I made the right choice. I will enjoy the moment, and my roots and repay the chance Ghana has given me. I think I will enjoy it on the sporting side and personally,†he explained
Williams was among five players who declared their allegiance to Ghana last month, and the decision by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to bolster its World Cup-bound squad through its diaspora has met with some backlash from followers of the Black Stars. Wary supporters are worried that this trend – snapping up eligible players of Ghanaian heritage – might disturb the harmony of the squad that qualified for the finals, which began on November 20.
Some of the newcomers are seen as opportunists who just want a chance to play in Qatar, where the 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists will face Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay in Group H. However, Williams revealed he thought about committing to the four-time African champions for “many months before switching allegiance to Ghana.â€
“My family helped me make the decision, and GFA president (Kurt Okraku) made the most effort for me to be with the national team,†he added.
“Many factors have influenced this decision. They proposed to me that I represent Ghana, as I had a pending trip to visit my family in the country.â€
“I had nothing clearly figured, but the trip helped me see what my grandparents thought about. It was then easier when you see the people and your family also support you to be a Black Star.â€
He also believes that Ghana can be competitive, and has, therefore, vowed to give his all once he makes his debut.
“There are many good players in the national team and we have a good squad. We will try to do our best all the time. Pressure or no pressure, I will give back the affection received through effort, work, and goals if they come. No one will be able to reproach my effort to make them feel proud of me,†he said.
Skeptics have, however, insinuated that Williams could follow the path of Kevin-Prince Boateng, another European-born player who decided to represent Ghana at the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup. The former Germany U21 international rarely showed up for fixtures in far-flung corners of the continent and never appeared at the Africa Cup of Nations.
“I will be available for the Nations Cup, that’s why I made the choice. We valued that the next editions will be in the winter, but at the end of the day, many European clubs lose their best players,†Williams said
“Representing the country my parents are from, and the country where I feel very loved, I will try to give everything for Ghana,” He revealed.
Asked if his decision would have been different if he had to choose between Ghana and Spain, Williams replied: “I don’t know. The choice I made is Ghana, for my family, for myself and for everything they have shown me in the last few months.”
After eight seasons at Athletic, Williams holds the record for the most consecutive appearances in La Liga – 234 games – after bettering the previous mark of 202 last October. He became the first black player to score in the club’s 117-year history when netting against Torino in February 2015, and Williams has the support of the club in his quest to pursue an international career outside of Spain.
“The current President, Aitor Elizegi, always wanted me to make that choice because he felt it would’ve made me happy,” he said”, adding:I think he feels happy and proud I have made that decision. Aitor sent me an emotive message as soon as I released the statement. I will always be grateful to him for being so supportive and understanding of my feelings.”
Williams’ younger brother, Nico, also plays for the Basque side, but he is unsure if the 20-year-old will follow in his footsteps and choose Ghana over Spain. “Despite being brothers, that question isn’t for me,” he said. That’s his decision, and that answer is down to him. I will, however, be there to support and help him.”
Former Ashgold Chief Executive Officer Kudjoe Fianoo is ranked as the best football administrator in the nation by former Black Stars coach Charles Akonnor.
Akonnor has acknowledged that, despite spending a lot of time working with Kurt Okraku, he preferred working with Kudjoe Fianoo.
In an interview with Asempa FM, Akonnor explained that Kudjoe Fianoo gave him liberty to work as coach of Ashantigold.
“I would never forget. I would say this. He [Mr. Fianoo] is the only administrator I have worked with and seen who gives you the free hands to work. It felt like the team was mine. I managed everything including even matchday activities. He made me really feel responsible,†he told Worlanyo.
“Mr. Fianoo gave the team to me. He only called when it was necessary to speak to me. Sometimes when I was going overboard he would call me and draw my attention. I was in control of the team.â€
Akonnor had a stint with AshantiGold before joining Asante Kotoko in 2018.

The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) has ruled that the decision of the GFA Elections Committee to disqualify Wilfred Kweku Osei, affectionately called Osei Palmer from the 2019 GFA Election is valid.
The decision means Kurt Okraku will stay on as the FA President with no re-election ordered.
On Wednesday morning CAS, after several postponement delivered the verdict which is likely to bring finality to a long protracted legal process.
Palmer was contesting the legitimacy of the current leadership of the FA at the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
He was found guilty of breaking GFA codes and was thus prevented from contesting the elections that saw the arrival of Kurt Okraku and eleven other Executive Council members.
The verdict means unless some monumental happens, Palmer may not be able to stand for any future election in the future.
Spokesperson of Osei Palmer, Ebo Appiah in an interview with Asempa FM admitted receiving the verdict from CAS. He said despite the disappointment they are ready to assist the current administration going forward.
“Palmer is calm and he is a sportsman who knows that you will either win or lose. He is calm and not down.” Ebo said.

Former CEO of Eleven Wonders, Takyi Arhinm believes that Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku will maintain his Presidency when the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) brings their final verdict on the case between the association and Wilfred Osei Kweku Palmer.
The tribunal was expected to announce the outcome of what has been a prolonged challenge, having rescheduled the date of their ultimate decision from July 17 to August 4.
Palmer dragged the national football’s governing body to CAF over the displeasure of being “unfairly” disqualified from the GFA’s presidential election in October last year.
But according to Takyi Arhin, Kurt Okraku will maintain his status as the GFA president when the final verdict is released on September 1.
“Nothing will change,” Takyi Arhin said. “Kurt Okraku will maintain his status as the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) when CAS finally release the verdict.
“We have all seen the good works Kurt Okraku is doing and I am convinced the status quo will remain the same,” he added.
Supporters of Kurt Okraku and Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer have resorted to mind games in the media after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) failed to deliver its verdict over the alleged wrongful dismissal of the latter from the Presidential race of the Ghana FA elections.
The Switzerland-based organisation had promised to deliver its landmark verdict for Ghana football on Tuesday but failed to live up to its promise to the parties by not releasing the ruling by the close of work.
The anxiety surrounding the case has boiled over into mind games with supporters of both men turning to social media and mass media to craftily claim victory even though no such verdict has been issued.
It is clear the attempts from both camps are meant to frighten the opponents into submission while giving hope to their numerous supporters that victory is near.
Two known supporters of Okraku went public with claims that an executive summary of the ruling has been issued forcing Palmer to issue a statement that the report is false.
Palmer and his team have also been issuing cryptic Bible messages claiming victory which his supporters have also latched onto as the mind games between the battling parties increases.
CAS is set to give a ruling to the much-awaited Wilfred Kwaku Osei (Palmer) versus Ghana Football Association (GFA) case.
The judgment which was initially fixed July 17 was postponed to Tuesday by CAS which according to them was in pursuant to Article R59 of the Code of Sports-related Arbitration.
CAS had initially set the date for the announcement of their final ruling on Friday, but on Wednesday rescheduled the decision to August 4.
For the past 11 months, the Tema Youth President had been seeking justice at CAS after he was disqualified from the 2019 GFA Presidential elections by the Normalisation Committee (NC).
Osei, popularly known as Palmer, is seeking redress from the sports tribunal for wrongful disqualification from the GFA presidential race by the defunct Fifa/Caf Normalisation Committee for Football in 2019.
He was disqualified from the count of two charges which include the failure to pay transfer commission to the football association as well as failing an integrity test.
After his disqualification by the Vetting Committee of the NC, Palmer filed an appeal which was swiftly rejected and resorted to the highest Court in Sports.
He later filed an appeal against the decision of the Normalisation Committee at the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
In July, CAS issued a communique spelling out the procedure and period of the release of their verdict on the matter pending before the body on August 4.
As stakeholders wait anxiously for the CAS ruling, the outcome could have far-reaching consequences on the direction of Ghana football.
Palmer, among other reliefs, is seeking the annulment of the decision on his appeal against his disqualification by the NC, a reversal of his disqualification, annulment of the October 25 GFA presidential election, and the conduct of fresh election with his inclusion in the lst of candidates.
This clearly indicates that the GFA could be heading for an unprecedented bye-election should the verdict favour Palmer. On the other hand, the Kurt Okraku administration will remain in cruise control in case the ruling goes the other way.
Journalists were left disappointed after storming the residence of Wilfred Kwaku Osei “Palmer” in anticipation of the final judgment from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in the case against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) which has been delayed for the second time.
Some local journalists stormed the Tema residence of the appellant in anticipation of the much-awaited verdict but they were left disappointed after CAS failed to deliver on its own promised date on Tuesday.
Palmer is seeking to overturn last year’s Ghana Football Association’s Presidential election after being disqualified.
The global tribunal body confirmed Tuesday, August 4 as the date to announce the verdict to bring to an end to a 10-month litigation which has far-reaching implication for the administration of football in Ghana.
While several watchers had been keen on the much-awaited verdict, CAS swerved Ghanaians by refusing to release the final judgment on Tuesday after an initial postponement from July 17.
These are frenetic times for the followers of both disqualified Osei Palmer and current GFA boss Kurt Okraku.
Palmer dragged the GFA to the apex of world sports court after he was disqualified from contesting in the 2019 Presidential election by the Normalisation Committee.
There are two things likely to happen – CAS to throw out the case and allow the status quo to remain or order for a re-run of the election if it was deemed that the plaintiff was unfairly disqualified from the race.
CAS will announce the decision whether to uphold Palmer’s quest to annul the election and order for fresh polls to decide on a new President for the GFA or allow the status quo to remain.
The situation has put the presidency of Kurt Okraku on the line with wide-reaching implications if Palmer becomes successful.
The ruling from CAS will put to rest months of intense anxiety involving all the principal actors.
An initial ruling on July 17, 2020 was postponed to Tuesday August 4, 2020.
President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku has hailed Kudus Mohammed for his move to Ajax Amsterdam adding that he has the qualities to play for the club.
The Black Stars winger joined the Dutch champions on a five year deal from FC Nordsjaelland last month.
And according to Kurt Okraku, he was hugely impressed with Kudus’ qualities after watching his debut for the senior national team, the Black Stars last year.
According to him, he [Kudus Mohammed] has the qualities as a player to fit into the system of Ajax.
“I am not surprised with Kudus Mohammed’s move to Ajax Amsterdam,” he told MAX TV.
“He [Kudus Mohammed] made his debut for the Black Stars against South Africa at the Cape Coast Stadium and I was impressed. He has qualities as a good player and I am happy for him.
“I can only wish the best of luck because we need such players in our national team,” he added.
The 19-year-old joined the Dutch champions for a fee of 9 million euros.
The future of Ghana FA boss Kurt Okraku could be thrown wide opened if Wilfred Osei Kweku “Palmer” wins his landmark case against the association at the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Tuesday.
If Palmer’s reliefs are granted by the world sport court on August 4, it will essentially collapse the 10-month presidency of the former Dreams FC Executive chairman.
Okraku coasted to a sweet victory in the presidential election back in October last year after a rigorous campaign.
But his young administration could be scuttled if Palmer becomes successful at the global tribunal.
The Ghana FA boss could face another bout of a laborious re-election bid if the association losses the case at CAS.
However, these are ifs and buts with the much anticipated verdict expected to put paid to the long-winding battle that has rocked the Ghana FA before Mr Okraku assumed the top position.
Palmer dragged the defunct normalisation committee to CAS for an unfair and “calculated” disqualification from the presidential race.
The verdict has a far reaching implication for both parties with CAS set to announce the ruling on Tuesday August 4.
There are two things likely to happen – CAS to throw out the case and allow the status quo to remain or order for a re-run of the election if it was deemed the plaintiff was unfairly disqualified from the race.
These are frenetic times for the followers of both disqualified aspirant Wilfred Osei Kweku and current FA boss Kurt Okraku.

The Chairman of Ghana Beach Soccer has expressed confidence that Ghana football would soon bounce back as a stronger brand as long as all stakeholders suppprt the revival process.
Yaw Ampofo-Ankrah has appealed to the media to be firm and objective in their analysis of the FA administration under President Kurt Okraku.
Speaking to Nigerian based media house “Open Life Ng”, the media practitioner turned sports administrator, confessed that the current football terrain appears to be more volatile than it used to be mainly due to factions who are either for or against the new leadership.
“I think it would be unfair to judge this new executive committee because they not yet settled when Covid-19 scuppered their game plan. I’m sure Kurt Okraku was still touching base with various partners and industry players in order to effectively navigate the rapidly evolving terrain “.
Ampofo Ankrah further added that assessment of the GFA performance so far is in order but judgement would be premature.
“The advantage that Kurt has is that football is the staple of Ghanaians because of the emotions and passion that fuels the sport. If you get it right, you are a hero or a saint but if you get it wrong, you can easily become a villain or a devil.”
Touching on beach soccer progress so far under the Okraku administration, the beach soccer capo admitted to a shaky start which has improved significantly over recent months even during the Covid 19 crisis.
“Apart from our own committee discussions, there has been regular communication with the hierarchy of the GFA including online dialogue and sessions among beach soccer clubs and the GFA”.
He is hopeful that when Covid-19 restrictions are eased or lifted completely, beach soccer would come back strongly.
Beach soccer clubs are currently preparing to commence registration online. This would be followed by the first major beach soccer tournament before the end of the year.
Ghana Football Association boss Kurt Okraku has chalked another milestone by reaching an agreement with city authorities for the erection of monuments to celebrate football heroes in the West African nation.
The Ghanaian FA leader held a fruitful discussion with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) boss Mohammed Adjei Sowah at at the City Hall in Accra.
Mr Okraku tabled the proposal for the erection of monuments and decorate public walls with colourful murals of football heroes both past and present which has been wholly accepted by the city authorities.
In a country where heroes are easily forgotten or left without a trace, this is massive move to ensure football’s men and women of courage are celebrated immortalized for future generations.
“From day one we have been looking for ways to build very good relationships with state and private institutions because football cannot be managed in isolation. Football, as we all know, is the passion of the nation and it permeates through every facet of our life. The football platform is huge and AMA can harness the potential on the football platform. AMA also has a huge platform where the football industry can also harness its potential and we think that we can do something together,” FA boss Kurt Okraku said.
” From your side, we believe you do engage the community a lot and you can use the football platform to do so. We use TV a lot and if you are embarking on educational campaigns you can use the football platform. We are strong on social media as well. It is a win-win partnership we looking for, you can use our premier league platform in your brand positioning.”
On his part, the Metropolitan Chief Executive of AMA Mohammed Adjei Sowah was left thrilled with the proposal as its gives true meaning to his outfit’s #AccraforArt initiative launched last year.
“The introduction of astroturf in our communities has helped us to, first of all, to capture the open space people had encroached upon. It has provided a modern field for playing football and I think the GFA must capitalise on this golden opportunity to bring back the vibrancy and excitement of local football. This is because the proximity of sporting facilities in communities goes a long way to encourage and unearth talents,” the AMA boss said.
Spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has opened up on why the confirmation of the Macron sponsorship deal was pull down from official twitter handle of the association.
The Kurt Okraku‘s led administration on Wednesday, July 22 confirmed a One Million Six Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢1.6m) sponsorship deal for the next three seasons.
The signing of the deal has raised red flags over the credibility of the company Macron Ghana (Koreen Kalaga Enterprise) as there hasn’t been any official communication from the Bologna-based company on the deal signed by the GFA.
However, the tweet that confirmed the deal by the Communications Department has been surprisingly pulled down.
And according to Mr Asante Twum, there was a mistake in the tweet that confirmed the deal.
“There was a mistake that’s why the Ghana Football Association pulled the Macron contract tweet,” he told Kumasi based Sikka FM.
According to the GFA, Macron will be the official Match Ball partner for three of our products, i.e. Ghana Premier League, MTN FA Cup and the National Division One League.
Macron will supply the GFA a total of Five Thousand (5,000) pieces of footballs and One Thousand and Five Hundred (1,500) pieces of bibs every season.
The Ghana Football Administration (GFA) under Kurt Okraku has been advised to pay particular attention to juvenile football also called colts.
Makkenzy Golightly, a juvenile trainer based in the UK has called on the current football leaders to organize more training courses for juvenile and youth coaches and plan for more competitive matches all over the country.
He said the grassroots are the foundation and they need support than the big clubs who must not depend on the GFA.
“Football in Ghana must develop from down to the top, and not from the top to down, which is a disaster†he expressed.
He noted that the colts and schools must be given more balls so that they can train well.
He stressed that the national football plan or formation must be learnt and played from the kids level to the adult level.
“We have our own system or formation called Agoro, and by this time we should have developed it and have a different vibration,†he said.
According to him, it is sad that Ghana would reach the finals of the Africa Nations Cup competition and lose at the finals, and allow Cameroun and Egypt to win more tournaments than the Black Stars.
He urged Kurt Okraku and his executive council to consider the schools and colleges, where there are educated talents as well as the kids in academies and colts to unearth the raw talents.
President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt E.S Okraku says the days of insufficient balls for football Clubs in Ghana is now a thing of the past.
His statement follows the announcement of a sponsorship deal with kits manufacturer, Macron for the next three seasons.
The deal, valued at One million six hundred thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢1.6m) is for the next three seasons.
Macron will be the official Match Ball sponsor for three of our products, i.e. Ghana Premier League, MTN FA Cup and the National Division One League.
“This sponsorship will focus on the development of the sport as clubs will have enough footballs at their disposal for training.
“The story of insufficient footballs reported by clubs for an industry that charts its successes to the usage of these balls is indeed a sad story.
“Today, we have changed this story to one that clubs can now boasts of with this exciting and game-changing partnership between Macron Ghana and the Ghana Football Association,†Mr. Okraku stated.
he owner of Berekum Arsenal, Alhaji Yakubu Moro is predicting a defeat for Kurt Okraku if there is reelection when Osei Kwaku Palmer wins his case at CAS against the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The Court of Arbitration for Sports(CAS) was originally set to rule on the case involving Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer and the GFA today but a statement from CAS stated that the ruling has been rescheduled to August 4.
In the wake of sharing the FIFA and CAF Covid-19 Relief Fund where clubs in the Division One League claims they are being cheated, Alhaji Yakubu Moro has said Kurt Okraku will be voted out if there is re-election because his administration is not credible and transparent.
“Wilfried Osei Kwaku Palmer CAS ruling between him and the GFA is on the pending and if he wins nobody will vote for Kurt Okraku againâ€, the Berekum Arsenal chairman said while speaking to Ark FM on Thursday.
“What is going on currently in Ghana football, am expecting Wilfrid Osei Kwaku Palmer to win his CAS case against the GFA and am 100% sure there will be reelection.
“Palmer did nothing wrong, the player was transferred in the name of Tema Youth, so if he didn’t pay the 10% Tema youth should be held responsible and it wasn’t proper to disqualified Palmer for contesting the GFA presidential electionâ€, he added.
The future of Ghana Football Association boss Kurt Okraku could be thrown wide open if Wilfred Osei Kweku “Palmer” wins his landmark case against the association at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
If Palmer’s reliefs are granted by the world sport court on Friday, July 17, it will essentially collapse the 10-month presidency of the former Dreams FC Executive chairman.
Kurt Okraku won a sweet victory in the presidential election back in October last year after a rigorous campaign.
But his young administration could be scuttled if Palmer becomes successful at the global tribunal.
The Ghana Football Association boss could face another bout of a laborious re-election bid if the association losses the case at CAS.
However, these are ifs and buts with the much-anticipated verdict expected to put to bed the long-winding battle that has rocked the GFA since Mr. Okraku assumed the top position.
Palmer dragged the defunct normalization committee to CAS for an unfair and “calculated” disqualification from the presidential race.
The verdict has a far-reaching implication for both parties with CAS set to announce the ruling on Friday, July 17.
