As reported by acclaimed football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Boateng’s initiation into coaching will take place in the Baller League.
This league, conceived by German footballer Matt Hummels, a former teammate of Boateng at the German youth level, serves as the platform for Boateng’s entry into football management.
“Kevin Prince Boateng is ready for a new chapter after retiring, as he’s expected to start in 2024 as the new team manager in Mats Hummels’ Baller League. His career will turn into a new experience soon,” he said.
Boateng, concluding his playing career with Hertha Berlin, officially retired from football at the age of 35. The former Black Stars player shared the announcement of his retirement on Instagram.
“I LOVE YOU. But that’s a WRAP for me ???? Thank you, FOOTBALL, for everything.” Kevin-Prince Boateng wrote as he accompanied it with a video.
Boateng left an indelible mark on the global football stage by proudly representing Ghana in twoFIFA World Cup tournaments.
During the 2010 World Cup hosted in South Africa, Boateng played a pivotal role as Ghana advanced to the quarter-finals. One of the standout moments was his goal in the round of 16 match against the United States of America, contributing to Ghana’s 2-1 victory and progression to the last eight.
Despite the promising journey, disappointment awaited as Ghana faced elimination in a penalty shootout against Uruguay, marking the conclusion of Boateng’s World Cup campaign.
Former Ghanaian international footballer Asamoah Gyan has shed light on the events leading to the ousting of Kevin-Prince Boateng from the Ghana national team during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Gyan disclosed that Boateng’s expulsion from the team was the result of multiple incidents where Boateng openly disrespected the team’s coach, Kwesi Appiah.
Kevin-Prince Boateng, who had played a pivotal role in Ghana’s 2010 World Cup campaign in South Africa, was recalled to the national team for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. However, tensions arose during the group stage of the tournament, ultimately leading to his exclusion.
Gyan revealed in a recent interview that the final straw occurred during a training session when Boateng openly clashed with Coach Kwesi Appiah, disrespecting him with his choice of words. The incident unfolded in front of the entire team, leaving the coach with no choice but to take action.
Gyan clarified that while the players had defended Boateng behind the scenes on previous occasions, Boateng’s repeated instances of disrespecting the coach had reached a breaking point. It was this series of incidents that led to the coach’s decision to remove Boateng from the squad.
The captain of the Ghana national team during that tournament emphasized that Boateng’s expulsion was ultimately a result of the coach’s call, as he felt that Boateng’s behavior had crossed the line.
Gyan’s revelations provide additional context to the situation and shed light on the dynamics within the team during the 2014 World Cup. The clash between Boateng and Coach Appiah on the training ground marked a turning point that resulted in Boateng’s abrupt expulsion from the squad.

Former Brazilian soccer star Alexander Pato has expressed his joy over the remarkable personal transformation of former Ghanaian international footballerKevin Prince Boateng.
Boateng recently made a public declaration of his newfound faith in Christianity and took part in a baptism ceremony, sharing this significant moment on his Instagram account.
In his Instagram post, Boateng made a reference to Revelation 3:20, signifying the start of a fresh spiritual journey in his life.
He stated, “And It’s up to the US to open the Door or not. JESUS is The way, The truth and The life.” This declaration signifies a fresh spiritual journey in Boateng’s life.”
Responding to Boateng’s declaration on Instagram, Pato, who was once his teammate at AC Milan, expressed his support, saying, “The best way my friend! ♥️”
Boateng’s spiritual awakening comes after his retirement from professional football in August, marking the end of his nearly two-decade-long career.
In a reflective video addressing his career, Boateng acknowledged the challenges he faced and underscored the importance of hard work.
He remarked, “You become a criminal or you play football, so I chose to play football. I was always special from the first moment, and I knew it. I was my biggest rival all the time. There’s no one else who can be my rival. Because no one is like me, no one thinks like me, and no one has emotions like me. It’s just me and myself. I had to learn that as well; talent is nothing without hard work.”
Boateng, who first played for Hertha Berlin’s junior squad, later represented some of the best clubs in Europe and represented Ghana in two FIFA World Cups. His spiritual awakening signifies the beginning of a new chapter in his life.
There is a hysteria for doing something unthinkable or highly improbable to be recognised since a Nigerian chef, Hilda Baci, documented her attempt to break a world record.
Ghanaians and Nigerians especially, have supported Baci’s efforts to break the current record of 87 hours and 45 minutes set in Rewa, central India in 2019 by Indian chef Lata Tondon.
Though her efforts are being verified by the Guinness World Records, both countries have extolled her with Ghanaians surprisingly claiming Baci to be Ghanaian.
Ghana and Nigeria have battled to take the most impressive African country title.
It may seem like Nigeria might have the upper hand with Baci’s Guinness World Records. But Ghana can already boast of being directly involved in a world record.
On June 23, 2010, during the FIFA World Cup held in Johannesburg, South Africa, a historic moment occurred as Kevin-Prince Boateng of Ghana and Jerome Boateng of Germany became the first brothers to face each other in a World Cup match.
Born to a Ghanaian father but raised by different mothers in Berlin, the brothers had spent considerable time together during their childhood.
However, they made distinct decisions regarding their national allegiances in their professional careers. Kevin-Prince Boateng represented Ghana, while Jerome Boateng opted to play for Germany.
The match between Ghana and Germany provided a unique and memorable opportunity for the two brothers to compete against each other on the world stage.
Meanwhile, Efya, a renowned Ghanaian singer, is embarking on an extraordinary mission to establish a new world record for the longest song ever created.
“If I can break a record, it will be for the longest song. Sometimes you can do the longest song recorded. I don’t have to be on my feet singing continuously. I could sing for a couple of days; I could hold a note for long. These dirges we have in Ghana are an example, we have 15 minutes of such songs. I could sing for 30 hours if I want to break the record. Hilda recorded 100 hours because she was cooking,” she told media practitioner Abeiku Santana.
Prince picked the Black Stars midfielder ahead of stars like Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who have all had varying impacts on the campaign of their nations.
22-year-old Kudus has been immense for Ghana at the Mundial, scoring twice and assisting in the Black Stars’ 3-2 win over South Korea on Monday.
After the game, the Ajax star has received rave reviews globally, with Barcelona Sporting Director Jordi Cruyff, confirming the Catalan club is monitoring his progress.
Speaking as a television pundit in Germany, Prince, who featured for Ghana at the 2010 and 2014 World Cup, expressed his admiration for the talented youngster.
“Kudus is the best player in the World Cup at the moment and he overly impresses with what he does. It’s incredible what he can do with the ball,” Boateng said on German television Sport1, as quoted by All Football.
“It will only be a matter of time before he moves, after the Dutch experience, to a top club,” Boateng said, “Kudus is currently the World Cup best player.”
Mohammed Kudus has 10 goals in 21 games this season for Ajax in all competitions, flourishing as a false nine after initially struggling for game time at the start of the season.
Former Black Stars forward, Kevin-Prince Boateng has been named as an ambassador for the Germany Euro 2024 tournament to represent the city of Berlin.
While preparations continue for the tournament, Bayern Munich and Germany great Philipp Lahm has been named tournament director.
Last Saturday, the ex-international and ambassador Celia Sasic hosted ambassadors selected to represent various cities of Germany to officially outdoor them.
At the event on the premises on the campus of the German Football Association (DFB) Kevin-Prince Boateng and Gerald Asamoah, both German-born but of Ghanaian descent were named among the ambassadors.
While KP Boateng will be the ambassador for the city of Berlin, Gerald Asamoah will be the ambassador for the city of Gelsenkirchen.
The 2024 Euro tournament will be the 17th edition of the tournament.
Former Ghana forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has expressed his joy after being named as an ambassador of Berlin for Euro 2024.
The 34-year-old has been elected to represent the city as Germany prepare to host the Euro 2024.
“It is a very special honor for me to represent the city that gave me everything 18 years ago. It is the cornerstone of my current career,” he wrote on Instagram.
Boateng was unveiled during an official dinner organized by the German Football Association (DFB) which had tournament director Philipp Lahm present.
“We are very happy that we were able to win Kevin-Prince Boateng as an ambassador,” said sports senator of Berlin Iris Spranger.
Boateng currently plies his trade for Hertha Berlin after stints with Barcelona, AC Milan and other clubs.
He played a key role for the Black Stars during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, where Ghana reached quarter final.
Ghana international, Kevin-Prince Boateng is finally set to have chances to play more minutes for Hertha Berlin in the German Bundesliga.
The veteran signed a contract extension deal with the Berlin-based club in the summer after helping the team to avoid relegation last season.
Since the start of the season, KP Boateng has struggled for playing time while battling with fitness as well.
After the September international break where Jean-Paul Boetius has been diagnosed with a testicular tumor, there is a chance for the former Black Stars attacker to be given the chance to play.
This week, the former AC Milan superstar has trained well and is likely to start for Hertha Berlin in the game against TSG Hoffenheim over the weekend.
His coach Sandro Schwarz is hoping that no injury will set in so that he counts on the quality and the experience of the player.
Inaki Williams of Athletic Bilbao claims that the offseason was the ideal time to switch allegiance to Ghana after playing for Spain and that he won’t regret his choice. The 28-year-old, whose parents are Ghanaians and who were born in Bilbao, played for Spain’s Under-21 squad and also had one senior team appearance in a friendly match against Bosnia in 2016.
The attacker feels firm that he is wasting his prime years waiting for his next call-up to the international team after six years of being ignored by Spain, and he may now play at this year’s World Cup. Williams declared, “I have my African ancestry and Ghanaian blood while being born in Europe.
“I think this is the best moment to make that decision. I don’t think I will regret it, because these opportunities only come once. I wasn’t going to have this opportunity again, and I think I made the right choice. I will enjoy the moment, and my roots and repay the chance Ghana has given me. I think I will enjoy it on the sporting side and personally,†he explained
Williams was among five players who declared their allegiance to Ghana last month, and the decision by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to bolster its World Cup-bound squad through its diaspora has met with some backlash from followers of the Black Stars. Wary supporters are worried that this trend – snapping up eligible players of Ghanaian heritage – might disturb the harmony of the squad that qualified for the finals, which began on November 20.
Some of the newcomers are seen as opportunists who just want a chance to play in Qatar, where the 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists will face Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay in Group H. However, Williams revealed he thought about committing to the four-time African champions for “many months before switching allegiance to Ghana.â€
“My family helped me make the decision, and GFA president (Kurt Okraku) made the most effort for me to be with the national team,†he added.
“Many factors have influenced this decision. They proposed to me that I represent Ghana, as I had a pending trip to visit my family in the country.â€
“I had nothing clearly figured, but the trip helped me see what my grandparents thought about. It was then easier when you see the people and your family also support you to be a Black Star.â€
He also believes that Ghana can be competitive, and has, therefore, vowed to give his all once he makes his debut.
“There are many good players in the national team and we have a good squad. We will try to do our best all the time. Pressure or no pressure, I will give back the affection received through effort, work, and goals if they come. No one will be able to reproach my effort to make them feel proud of me,†he said.
Skeptics have, however, insinuated that Williams could follow the path of Kevin-Prince Boateng, another European-born player who decided to represent Ghana at the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cup. The former Germany U21 international rarely showed up for fixtures in far-flung corners of the continent and never appeared at the Africa Cup of Nations.
“I will be available for the Nations Cup, that’s why I made the choice. We valued that the next editions will be in the winter, but at the end of the day, many European clubs lose their best players,†Williams said
“Representing the country my parents are from, and the country where I feel very loved, I will try to give everything for Ghana,” He revealed.
Asked if his decision would have been different if he had to choose between Ghana and Spain, Williams replied: “I don’t know. The choice I made is Ghana, for my family, for myself and for everything they have shown me in the last few months.”
After eight seasons at Athletic, Williams holds the record for the most consecutive appearances in La Liga – 234 games – after bettering the previous mark of 202 last October. He became the first black player to score in the club’s 117-year history when netting against Torino in February 2015, and Williams has the support of the club in his quest to pursue an international career outside of Spain.
“The current President, Aitor Elizegi, always wanted me to make that choice because he felt it would’ve made me happy,” he said”, adding:I think he feels happy and proud I have made that decision. Aitor sent me an emotive message as soon as I released the statement. I will always be grateful to him for being so supportive and understanding of my feelings.”
Williams’ younger brother, Nico, also plays for the Basque side, but he is unsure if the 20-year-old will follow in his footsteps and choose Ghana over Spain. “Despite being brothers, that question isn’t for me,” he said. That’s his decision, and that answer is down to him. I will, however, be there to support and help him.”
Kevin-Prince Boateng is expecting his first child with Valentina Fradegrada since they got married, according to media reports in Italy and Germany.
The two got married on June 11, 2022, in a ceremony organised by Italian wedding organizer, Enzo Miccio.
This would be the 35-year-old’s third child. Boateng has two children from his previous two marriages to Melissa Satta and Jennifer Boateng.
Valentina Fradegrada and Boatengmet in August 2021. There was a flash engagement that led, less than a year later, to the wedding.
Fradegrada has origins from Bergamo and has been in the world of digital communication for over 10 years. In 2009, she opened a fashion and lifestyle blog and then worked as a model in the United States.
Back in Italy, she graduated in Fashion Marketing. The two newly weds have recently started an ambitious project: to launch their own wine brand.
From limited playing time, injuries, fallout with the manager, to staring relegation, the 2021-22 football season is unarguably Kevin-Prince Boateng’s worst football time in recent years, perhaps an indication that the time has come for the Hertha Berlin midfielder to consider a different contribution to the beautiful game.
In June last year, the 35-year-oldreturned to boyhood club Hertha in what was considered the perfect homecoming. Hertha was not just where he started his professional career but Berlin was also the city where he was born.
For many, the move in itself suggested that the ‘Ghetto Kid’was probably considering calling time on his playing career.
However, the Hertha return appears far from what he may have envisaged, and possibly never the type of goodbye he would like at a club he holds dearly in his heart.
In all, Boateng made 18 Bundesliga appearances, his limited match time largely due to fitness concerns, which took away steam from his game and plunged him into a loss of form.
In October, Boateng fell out with then club coach Pal Dardai after both men had a spat in training. Interestingly, they played together as teammates during the latter’s first Hertha spell.
Although they made up shortly after their altercation, things were never quite the same as Boateng spent more time on the bench than before, making no further Bundesliga starts under Dardai until April this year under new boss Felix Magath.
It was not only a tough time for the former Ghana international on a personal note but also at team level as Hertha battled relegation, ultimately failing to secure top-flight status at the end of the season.
However, it was not the worst possible situation as The Old Lady got themselves a lifeline by finishing third from bottom and securing an upcoming relegation play-off clash with Hamburg.
In summary, the midfielderplayed just about half (18) the total number of matches of the Bundesliga season, starting a paltry eight games, the lowest number of starts accumulated over the course of a full season since his 2015-16 campaign.
Also, he was an unused substitute in seven games, missed six matches due to injury and a further one due to suspension, in addition to inexplicably being missing from the matchday squad on two occasions.
Worst, he ended the season without a goal nor an assist, his first time hitting such an unfortunate stat since the 2008-09 term.

So, after time on the books of some of the glamourous clubs in the world, including Milan, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke 04, and Tottenham Hotspur, and at international level gracing the World Cup on two occasions, is it perhaps the right time for Boateng to reconsider his playing career?
“I want to pull on the Hertha shirt at the Olympiastadion one more time. I don’t know how long it’ll last, but it’ll be enough for me. It’s definitely my last club,” Boateng said last July after rejoining Hertha.
Monza forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has been named Serie B Player of the Month for December.
The 33-year-old contributed two goals and two assists as Monza recorded five wins and a draw after eight league matches in the month under review.
Boateng scored a quick-fire brace on December 15 when the White and Reds cruised past struggling Virtus Entella with a 5-0 victory at home.
Four days later, he assisted Davide Bettella in finding the back of the net as Monza fell to a 3-2 loss against Pescara. It was their second defeat in December after a 3-0 loss at Reggiana.
Boateng continued with another assist for Carlos Augusto as he helped the U-Power Stadium outfit bounce back to winning form with a 2-0 win over Ascoli on December 22.
Since he joined Monza from Fiorentina in September, the former Barcelona and AC Milan forward has contributed four goals in 13 Serie B appearances and his return in front of goal has helped the White and Reds climb to fourth in the league table as they aim for promotion to the Italian top-flight.
Monza started 2021 with a goalless draw against Lecce on Monday with the 33-year-old playing 86 minutes of football before he was replaced.
With four points adrift of the summit, Boateng will be aiming to help Cristian Brocchi’s side boost their chances of promotion when they host Cosenza for their next league fixture on January 16.
Boateng moved a step lower to the second division in September to reunite with former AC Milan President Silvio Berlusconi who first brought him to Italy in 2010.
“How did Silvio Berlusconi convince me [to come to Monza]? He called me and said ‘my son, come home’. There was no need for many more words,” Boateng said.
Ghana forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has expressed satisfaction in AC Monza’s goalless draw at Lecce in the Serie B over the weekend.
Monza who were without forward Mario Balotelli failed to close the gap on leaders Empoli after the draw at the Stadio Comunale Via del Mare.
“We knew that the Giallorossi was a strong team and we had a good match like them after all. The draw is the right result for a match where we were tired and not that we wanted to make mistakes,” he said after the game.
Balotelli was left out of the matchday squad despite his immediate impact on his debut against Salernitana. Boateng believes the Italian forward will contribute hugely to the club in the second round.
“He arrived with great desire, he wanted to play at all costs today even if he felt a little annoyed. Now with the break, he can get back in shape and give us a hand in the second half.”
Boateng joined Monza in the summer transfer window and has already netted four times as the club lie 3rd on the Serie B table.
Black Stars forward, Kevin-Prince Boateng, has hailed the legendary Diego Armando Maradona who died at age 60.
The former Napoli legend is regarded as one of the best players to have graced the green turf on planet earth.
According to a poll conducted by France Football, Diego Maradona was adjudged the best offensive midfielder of all-time.
According to Kevin-Prince Boateng, Maradona is an exemplary figure who must be celebrated for what he did for others, not just not himself.
“I have read a sentence that is emblematic for me. We don’t have to think about what Maradona did for himself but what he did for others. He has done a lot”, Kevin-Prince Boateng told the official channels of Serie B.
“He was number one on the pitch but he was even more phenomenal off the pitch. Because I’ve never heard a mate complain, I’ve always heard of out-of-the-ordinary gestures. There has been a lot of talk about him, for better or for worse, but we must remember how he influenced our lives, and he did and always willâ€.
Maradona also led Argentina to win the 1986 FIFA World Cup, an achievement which sent him to the history books of the country as one of the greatest players to come out of South America.
Ghana international, Kevin Prince Boateng agreed to join Serie B side, AC Monza this summer. Boateng after returning to AFC Fiorentina from Besiktas on loan struggled to break into the team.
He was linked to several European clubs before signing for AC Monza.
Speaking to Gazzetta.it Adriano Galliani revealed that Kevin Prince Boateng wanted to play in Canada and he sent him text messages to get him to sign for the Serie B club.
“Boateng wanted Canada. I told him that he can play for us in Monza,” he said.
“It was not easy, in the end, he cut his salary to come to us. I convinced him with text messages and love songs,” Galliani added.
Kevin Prince Boateng has played eight games, scoring twice with one assist in Serie B this season.
AC Monza forward Kevin-Prince Boateng is delighted with the 1-1 result against Pisa in the Italian Serie B on Tuesday night.
The Red and White lads are still in the hunt for their maiden victory in the ongoing Serie B campaign after playing three draws from their opening three games.
Cristian Brocchi’s men dominated the first half but failed to convert the plethora of chances that came their way as the half ended in a stalemate.
AC Monza came back from the break with the same desire and deservedly broke the deadlock through Italian youngster Davide Frattesi just a minute into the second half.
However, Monza failed to guard their lead as Pisa hit back in the 81st minute courtesy Michele Marconi.
Despite making several incursions in the closing stages, Monza could not get the needed second goal as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Boateng, who played 79 minutes for Monza, hopped on Twitter to express his delight over the result though he believes they could have done more.
A point that is close to us. Forward with the same determination and desire to win.
On August 28, 2013, Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng wrote his name in the AC Milan history books by becoming the first Rossoneri to net a double on his 100th appearance for the club. He was the toast of the AC Milan fans as he netted two goals on his 100th appearance for the club in a 3-0 win over PSV in the UEFA Champions League.
Boateng 26-year-old then put up a fantastic performance on the night and capped it with two world-class goals as Milan hammered Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven 3-0 to progress to the group stage of the 2013-14 Uefa Champions League.
The former Tottenham and Portsmouth attacking midfielder had made 74 appearances in the league with 10 goals, two appearances in the TIM Cup, 23 Champions League appearances with six goals as well as an appearance and a goal in the Italian Super Cup.
Melissa Satta, wife of Kevin-Prince Boateng, has said that it would be a “crowning glory” for her husband if he completes a move back to his boyhood club Hertha Berlin before calling time on his career.
The Fiorentina forward spent three years at his hometown club between 2004-2007 where he rose through the ranks before joining the English side Tottenham Hotspur.
Boateng, who spent last season on loan at Turkish side Besiktas, has spoken about his profound desire to end his career alongside his junior brother Jerome at Hertha Berlin.
And the wife of the Ghanaian midfielder Melissa Satta has revealed that it will be the crowning moment of her husband’s career if it happens.
“A return to Berlin would be the crowning glory of my husband’s career,” the 34-year-old, who works as a TV presenter and model in Italy, explains to Bild .
“Berlin is a great city and his home. Hertha can change a lot in the future, I wish Prince can be part of it.”
However, Hertha Berlin coach Bruno Labbadia has cast doubt of the possibility of the Ghanaian joining his squad in future.
“Kevin has the quality, no question about it. But we want to build something for the coming years, and it is very important who we put in the positions. And that’s why we mainly look for young players,” said the coach on Monday.
Hertha Berlin coach, Bruno Labbadia, has poured cold water on the Kevin-Prince Boateng reports, signalling the intention of the club to recruit younger players.
Boateng has made his return to Fiorentina after playing for Besiktas on loan in 2020. It was reported that he was interested in a return to Hertha Berlin.
The coach, however, clearly stated that he is looking at recruiting players far younger than the 33-year-old midfielder.
“Kevin Prince Boateng has quality, there’s no doubt about that. However, we want to build the staff of the coming years. This is a very important strategy for us. That’s why we’re focused on the transfer of young players,” he told the German media.
It remains to be seen if the Ghanaian stays at Fiorentina for next season.
Kevin-Prince Boateng reiterated his desire to return to Hertha Berlin to end his career, but the current boss of the side Bruno Labbadia has disclosed that he may not need the services of the Ghanaian.
Born in Germany, the attacker together with his brother Jerome Boateng started their careers with the Bundesliga outfit and spent over a decade at the club.
After an illustrious career that has seen KP Boateng playing in almost all the top-flight leagues in the major European Leagues, the 33-year-old relished a return to the Berlin-based club.
However, his dreams of ending his career at Hertha Berlin have been shattered as the club looks forward to building a long-term project with the recruitment of youth stars in the near future.
“Kevin has the quality, no question about it. But we want to build something up for the coming years, and it is very important who we put in the positions. And that’s why we mainly look for young players,” Labbadia said via Kicker.
Boateng has ended his six-month loan spell with Be?ikta? JK in the Turkish Süper Lig and is due back to ACF Fiorentina as his contract with the Italian top-flight outfit will expire in June 2021.
Kevin-Prince Boateng once made it clear what went wrong in his one and a half years at Tottenham Hotspur: “I hardly played and had no drive to train in the morning. I was caught up in lethargy. Nightclubs and parties were more important than football” he told the English newspaper in 2010 when he was playing at Portsmouth FC.
There he had prevailed in the Premier League and became a Ghanaian international. His first engagement in England , that of Tottenham, turned into a nightmare.
“I went to the Spurs at the age of 20 and immediately got a huge damper,” looked back Boateng, who switched from Hertha BSC to London in summer 2007 for just under eight million euros . “After a lot of preparation, Martin Jol (Tottenham coach at the time) told me that while I was a good guy and was under contract, he didn’t want me at all.”
Kevin-Prince Boateng: “I was all alone in this huge city”That must have been sitting. Especially since he didn’t really want to go to England, as he later revealed: “I would have preferred Spain , but at Hertha people advised me to go to England.” The FC Sevilla was then also him off, said Boateng in 2019 in an interview with Goal and DAZN .
But it became Tottenham – and it became bitter. “I was all alone in this huge city of London, it was depressing,” he said. He did not get a move in the first few weeks and was only allowed to play in the Premier League for the first time on matchday 12 of the 2007/08 season. In the middle of the season he had a decent phase, but from the beginning of March to the end of the season nothing worked again.
Boateng set wrong priorities, as he admits. “It was important to me to wear the coolest clothes and to be known in the night clubs. I was completely on the wrong track.” The lack of playing time frustrated him more and more, just as the sweet life overwhelmed him with the financial opportunities of a football professional.
Kevin-Prince Boateng bought three cars in one day “Once I bought three cars in one day,” says the 33-year-old midfielder. Boateng bought a Lamborghini, a Hummer and a Cadillac classic car, “for a high six-figure sum. I also have 2000 baseball caps from that time, 20 leather jackets and 160 pairs of shoes. My frustration was expressed in massive attacks of shopping addiction. ”
Because he had no one on site to talk to, who could have slowed him down, Boateng couldn’t get out of that downward spiral. “I would have needed someone to advise me on sporting and financial matters, to wake me up, but there was nobody there,” he says. Sometimes he spent “huge sums of money” on a celebration night. “But that didn’t make me happy. I was a broken man who lived in his own world.”
Although he still had 13 Premier League appearances in his first season with the Spurs, he only had a meager 14 minutes in the first half of his second season. He pulled the emergency brake and was loaned to Borussia Dortmund in early 2009 . And there, at BVB, he gets the curve, has in Jürgen Klopp the sponsor that he has always lacked at Tottenham. “He knows exactly what he has to say so that you can go out on the pitch and die for him. He’s ahead of everyone else,” said Boateng to Goal and DAZN about today’s Liverpool coach. “I would even go to China for Klopp .”
Kevin-Prince Boateng learned from Tottenham: “Just shit for a year, but …”In summer 2009 he had to go back to Tottenham, but then went to Portsmouth and came to AC Milan after Genoa in 2010 after the successful World Cup with Ghana , where he played with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ronaldinho, Andrea Pirlo and Robinho. He became an Italian champion and later played for Schalke, Frankfurt, Barcelona,Florence and Besiktas .
Boateng has had a great career. One that also included the dark time at Tottenham back then. “If I hadn’t gone to Tottenham, I wouldn’t have been the player I am today,” he said. “I only made shit there for a year, but in retrospect it helped me. I learned what it means to be a professional football player and how to eat properly. I realized that you should stay at home when everyone is move around the houses at night. ”
Ghana’s Kevin Pince Boateng swerved a move to join former boss Adriano Galliani at Italian Seria B side AC Monza, the latter has revealed.
According to Galliani, who is the current CEO of Monza, says his outfit were in talks with Kevin-Prince Boateng, but the discussion could not bring the desired result.
Galliani did not tell the period in which he engaged in a discussion with his former employee at AC Milan but says the parties decided not to go ahead with the operation.
This was confessed in ‘Sky Sport’ Adriano Galliani , administrator of the Monza, who pointed out that there were conversations with the former Milan footballer . However, these did not come to fruition.
“We had a brief flirtation with Boateng , but we finally decided not to go ahead with the possible operation. Perhaps he could have reached the team,” said the transalpine.
For some time now, the Monza , owned by the always controversial Silvio Berlusconi, has garnered much attention for his desire to have great stars who lead a project that dreams, in the short term, of reaching the Serie A.
He gave no reason for which the deal that could have gotten him reunited with the Ghanaian could not materialise.

The 33-year old passed a late fitness test, and started as the Black Eagles strolled to a comfortable 2-0 victory following a majestic performance at the Vodafone Park.
Domagoj Vida opened the scoring for the home side in the 63rd minute after over an hour of heated football without a goal.
The lead was doubled seven minutes later after midfielder Gokhan Gonul slotted home to put the game beyond the visitors.

Boateng has three goals and an assist in 10 games for the Black and Whites.
Melissa Satta, stunning wife of Fiorentina forward Kevin-Prince Boateng insists her public admission of the couples active sex life hurt their relationship.
The Italian model shocked the world in 2012 when she revealed the on loan Besiktas forward romp her 10 times a week.
She attributed the consistent injury of the Ghana international to the excessive sexual escapade.
But she has consistently attempted to clarify the claim which sparked controversy eight-years ago.
“The fact that we have sex so often does not make me a nymphomaniac,” she told Gazzetta dello Sport
“You have to be very careful with what you say in the world of soccer, especially when it comes to sex. You can’t imagine what spiral I ended up in.
Satta made the stunning statement just a year after meeting the former Barcelona forward.
The pair finally got married in the Italian town of Porto Cervo but broke up two years later.
But they resumed their relationship in 2019 and appears to be growing stronger in bond.
Satta, 33, and Boateng,34, have a son Maddox together.
Chief Executive Officer of Monza Adriano Galliani has revealed that his outfit made an approach for Kevin-Prince Boateng but his wage demands knocked them off.
Boateng left Turkish side Besiktas on loan from Fiorentina with the option to purchase this summer.
The 33-year-old’s career at the Vodafone Park started on a bright note, scoring two goals in his four appearances before the league was suspended amid the coronavirus crisis.
The forward has failed to replicate the form he demonstrated before the forced break prompting the club to send him back to Fiorentina.
According to Galliani, who worked with the Ghana international at AC Milan, he made a move to bring the forward to Monza but his wage demands scuppered the transfer.
“Let’s not forget that Monza is 100% Fininvest. With such a solid and ambitious ownership, no player contacted refuses to play with us,” said Galliani.
“I flirted with (Kevin-Prince) Boateng but he asks for a salary that is not compatible with our parameters.
“Ibra (Zlatan Ibrahimovic)? I love him but he has a salary out of our reach.”
Galliani signed both players while running things at Milan.

Ghanaian international Kevin-Prince Boateng blasted the world Football governing body FIFA following their “joke” with the fight against racism. The Besiktas forward recounted his bad experiences when he became a victim of the act, saying FIFA valued the VAR more than fighting racism canker.
Boateng hit the headlines in 2013 when, while still serving AC Milan, he left the field after racist insults and his teammates followed. As a result, he repeatedly campaigned against discrimination: “I would become a kind of ambassador in the fight against racism.”
At the time, however, his action had no long-term consequences: “At that time I thought that something would finally change. I really thought so. FIFA invited me to meet Joseph Blatter, who asked me: ‘What can we do?’ Then FIFA installed an anti-discrimination task force and invited me to be part of it. It seemed perfect. ”
Less than three years later, however, this was history. “In September 2016 I received an email from FIFA that I will never forget. It basically said: ‘The task force has achieved its goal. We have done our job.’ You closed the task force and I called my adviser and said, “This is a joke, what have you accomplished? What have you done?”
He also believes that FIFA only installed the task force to keep up appearances. “I can only guess that it is more important to them that a VAR tells us whether the ball is in goal instead of fighting racism. […] It just doesn’t bring more people to the stadium. It doesn’t do the big thing Money one. ”
In an emotional article in The Players’ Tribune . The former Bundesliga player however made a clarion call on his “white brothers and sisters” to come together to end the discriminatory act.
The former Milan star believes the world can afford to live “in nice houses” if all will come together to fight the menace that has received widespread condemnation.
“White brothers and sisters, you are the ones who can change the world. We need you. Especially now. You have to help us,” Boateng writes.
“Some say: ‘Yes, but every life counts.’ Of course, every life counts, but the black church is on fire, so if my house is on fire and yours isn’t, which one is the most important? Exactly. So help me put out the fire and we can both live in nice houses. ”
Football in Germany was dominated by the fight against racism on match day 30 and after the death of African American George Floyd during an arrest and the subsequent unrest in the USA. The pictures of a silent protest.
In his opinion, everyone would be able to do something. “A white friend of mine said that he didn’t want it to look like he was just jumping on the train. And I said: ‘But that’s exactly the train you want to jump on! Because this train will be the one Change world! ‘”
A friendly in 2013 between AC Milan and Italian lower division club Pro Patria got suspended after players walked off because of racist chants.
Kevin-Prince Boateng, then playing for Milan, sparked the walk-off by picking up the match-ball midway through the first half and kicking it into the crowd.
The Ghana international then removed his shirt and was followed by both sets of players and officials, a move which was praised by then Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi Boateng.
Kevin-Prince Boateng is known not to be a man of quiet words. And that’s just as well! Because the former Bundesliga professional raises his voice especially in the fight against racism – FIFA does not get away well on this move from a native of Berlin.
The murder of George Floyd has opened the eyes of the world and, above all, made it clear to the whites that racism is an acute problem and not just a vague feeling of the blacks. The fact that it has come to this and that a murder of an innocent man, who was only killed because of his skin color, causes resistance movements is a testimony to humanity per se. But how long will the current protests and the newly sparked fight against racism continue?
In his column on The Players’ Tribune Boateng wrote: “It seemed perfect. I should continue to train and play games, but at the same time I was able to give input to these people and they would introduce campaigns, rules, and penalties. I also made a suggestion to Blatter [Sepp Blatter, then FIFA President, note]: cameras and put up microphones in the stadiums, like this, if someone chanted something racist – BANG, get out. ”
“I said to Blatter: ‘Listen, try it. If it works, you’re a hero. If it doesn’t work, then we tried,’” Boateng continued. “After that, the task force had meetings. We talked and exchanged a few emails.”
FIFA closes the task force again – Boateng appalled
So far a great plan, a great initiative – but then the disillusionment with the former Ghana international followed: “Nothing really happened. A month later, the media stopped talking about it. And then, in September 2016, I received an email from FIFA, and I will never forget what it said, essentially, “The task force has done its job. We have done our job.” They ended it. ”
Furious, Boateng called his agent: “This is a joke. What did they accomplish? What did they do? They fined the teams € 30,000? And then could the fans return to the stadium the next day? And your children will see that and take that as an example? What is 30,000 euros for a club? For nothing. That is the penalty? That is the consequence? ” The 33-year-old was and is deeply disappointed by the World Football Association and his “fight” against racism.
I think FIFA only used this task force to give the impression that they were doing something.
On The Players’ Tribune, the former Bundesliga professional has a tough verdict on FIFA: “I honestly believe that FIFA used this task force only to give the impression that they were doing something. I’m not even afraid to say it, it’s a fact, I don’t know why they’re not doing more, you have to ask them, I can only assume that it is more important to them that the VAR tells us whether the ball is over the line than getting rid of racism. They have so much money, they invest so much in cameras, goal-line technology, everything. But fight racism? No. It doesn’t bring more people to the stadium. It doesn’t bring in big money. It is my opinion, and remember, FIFA launched this task force in 2013. That was seven years ago, and now we’re still here talking about exactly the same problems … ”
In the fight against racism and oppression Boateng therefore also takes his foot all colleagues in the duty and wants more. A t-shirt with ‘No Racism’ or the #BlackoutTuesday are good and beautiful, but that alone couldn’t be it.
Boateng writes in his article on The Players’ Tribune what he demands from his soccer colleagues, what happened to him as a child in East Germany and what caused him to leave the field in 2013.

The president of Turkish giants Be?ikta?, Ahmet Nur Çebi, has revealed that Kevin-Prince Boateng has voluntarily removed an option that would have triggered an automatic contract extension.
The 33-year-old signed for the Super Lig side on loan in January. In the contract, an option was included. Boateng had to play for at least 45 minutes a game for 10 games to trigger a 1.7 million euro a year extension. So far, he has made seven appearances of which six of them meets the criteria.
The coronavirus pandemic has hit a lot of clubs hard including Be?ikta?. They asked the Ghanaian to remove the clause in the contract and he has agreed.
“He had the option of 1 million 700 thousand euros, but he raised it. He said,” Don’t be tied to me, I want to play ball, “and we removed the option,” Ahmet Nur Çebi told CNN Turk.
The former Barcelona star has scored two goals for Be?ikta? so far.

Ghana forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has been excluded from Besiktas match-day squad against Denizlispor due to last week’s incident.
Boateng drew the ire of the Black Eagles faithful during last weekend’s 2-1 home loss against Antalyaspor.
The 33-year-old was videoed throwing his shirt to the ground after he was replaced with Umut Nayir in the 65th minute.
He quickly took to social media to issue an apology to the club in the wake of the match but clarified that his actions were misinterpreted as he did not mean to disrespect the Black and White shirt.
However, coach Sergen Yalç?n deemed it fit not to include the Ghana international in his matchday squad for Saturday’s encounter against Denizlispor despite injury robbing him of some of his key players for the game.
Kevin-Prince Boateng was back in action for Besiktas from the resumption of the Turkish Super Lig, but he was on the losing side in 2-1 defeat to Antalyaspor at Vodafone Park on Saturday evening.
Football in the Turkish top-flight had been on hold since mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic which has affected more than 170,000 people to date in the country.
The last game Besiktas played before the lockdown was against Istanbul rivals Galatasaray which ended in a goalless draw.
On Saturday however, they started on the back foot with Sinan Gumus and Amilton Silva scoring for the visitors in the 15th and 35th minutes of play, respectively.
Adem Ljajic scored the consolation goal for Besiktas in the 68th minute after coming off the bench.
Boateng was on the pitch for 65 minutes and had a decent outing, with a total of three shots, two of which were blocked.
He also produced 45 touches and 30 accurate passes at an impressive 93% success rate, the fifth-highest behind Franco-Cameroonian Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, Egypt international and Arsenal loanee Mohamed Elneny, Mali winger Abdoulaye Diaby and Ljajic.
The 33-year-old Ghana international made one key pass, played two successful long balls and won six of 10 total duels. He was also fouled by the opposition three times.
Boateng who is presently on loan from Italian Serie A side Fiorentina – has now made seven appearances, scoring two goals. His first was on his debut in a 3-0 win over Gaziantep while the second was in a 2-2 draw at home to Trabzonspor.
Elneny played the entire game but was booked in the 32nd minute for a foul. The 27-year-old had 103 accurate passes and 118 touches, both the highest of any Besiktas player.
Diaby, meanwhile, made 28 touches, 21 accurate passes and was flagged offside three times before going off for Nkoudou at the start of the second half.
Besiktas have now lost nine games in the Super Lig this season, winning 13 and drawing five.
They remain in the fifth spot on the table, but could see their five-point gap away from Europa League qualification widen should Sivasspor see off Denizlispor at the Yeni Sivas 4 Eylul Stadium on Monday night.
Besiktas forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has asserted if he were currently playing in the United States Major League Soccer, he would campaign the ongoing racial protests the way legendary boxer Muhammad Ali did.
USA is presently in a state of unrest following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis after a police officer knelt on his neck for several minutes with Floyd having apparent breathing difficulties and passing away in hospital.
It has led to protests not only across the United States but also in other parts of the world like the United Kingdom, France, Germany and even in African countries like Nigeria and South Africa.
Racism has been rife in football with Boateng among several black players that have been targeted by fans in stadiums.
“It is a difficult situation. Other than being sad, I am angry. It just hurts always coming back to the same feeling. It’s very difficult for me right now,” Boateng told Sky Sports.
“[Completing a potential move to the USA to play in MLS] wouldn’t change a thing. I would be the same person. I would fight the same because I’m numb now. It hurts me but it doesn’t touch me now, I’m strong enough to deal with it.
“Maybe that would be the perfect thing for me to play there right now – to make a statement to give something back to show the people that I’m on the frontline, that I will be your front guy – I will be your Muhammad Ali.
“He always said ‘I will be there, I’m more than a boxer’. I want to be more than a boxer. There are a hundred players better than me, faster than me, I will fight for something bigger.
“Even if I change two minds, three, one hundred – that’s in my power. America, Germany, Italy, France, England – everywhere there is racism so it doesn’t matter where I play. I will always play for the right thing.”
Liverpool players recently stood on their knees in training in solidarity for Floyd, while Borussia Dortmund players Jadon Sancho and Morocco international Achraf Hakimi wore shirts with inscriptions calling for justice for Floyd in their last Bundesliga match.
Boateng made the headlines in 2013 while playing for AC Milan when he walked off the pitch after racist chants were hurled at him in a friendly game against Pro Patria. Boateng has been a campaigner ever since and says football isn’t doing enough to tackle the problem, insisting he would walk away from the pitch if he was abused again.
“I saw Liverpool kneeling and that is a good start to show that they are with us,” the 33-year old Ghanaian continued.
“In general what is football doing? Not a lot. An advert on television or a banner when the teams walk onto the pitch [is not enough]. It’s already late but it’s never too late, we just have to wake up.
“There’s always a little chain – we have to start to believe in what we are doing. People say it was a friendly game, but I didn’t care in that moment because it was something bigger inside of me. It wasn’t about the game. Even if it was a Champions League game I would have walked off.
“It’s not a discussion, it’s just if we’re strong enough, if we really want to change something, we have to take big measures.”
Boateng is on loan at Besiktas from Fiorentina. He has scored two goals in six Turkish Super Lig outings.
After two months of inactivity because of the coronavirus pandemic, football in Turkey will resume next weekend with Besiktas hosting Antalyaspor at Vodafone Park.
Kevin-Prince Boateng has spoken out following the death of George Floyd at the hands of four police officers in the United States and thinks that black professionals should go a day without work to show their worth.
Floyd’s killing sparked protests and riots all over the world and the former Barcelona forward stands in support of those sending a message.
“Do one thing,” Boateng told Sky Sports, “take every black person out of sports and every black actor out of the movies and how is it going to be? Boring.”I want to get a day that no black player goes to work, maybe on George Floyd’s birthday. Not because we don’t want to work or disrespect our club but to honour our black community.”
The idea was just one that Boateng, who is currently on loan at Besiktas from Fiorentina, had as he continued to call on people to do something to combat racism.”Of course,” he responded when asked if others could get involved with such a movement.”Imagine what a message it would be if white people stick with us, if they said,
‘I won’t go to practice’ or ‘I won’t go to work’ or ‘I won’t play’.”Imagine it’s on a Saturday, the day of a game, that would be a big message.”I’m trying to think of answers – putting cameras and speakers inside the stadium so you can point out who is that person. I’m trying to do something because nothing is happening.” There’s always just something tragic happening – and then it’s too late.”
Boateng previously walked off the pitch during a friendly match with AC Milan as he was the victim of racist abuse from the stands but he knows that others are fearful of doing the same thing.
“It was a powerful image and still is now,” he said.”But I think even now people are scared they are going to get sanctioned.”There’s always a little chain – we have to start to believe in what we are doing.”People say it was a friendly game, but I didn’t care in that moment because it was something bigger inside of me. It wasn’t about the game. Even if it was a Champions League game I would have walked off.”It’s not a discussion, it’s just if we’re strong enough, if we really want to change something, we have to take big measures.
When asked if society as a whole was doing enough, Boateng recognised that although some recent efforts were appreciated, more needs to be done.”Of course not,” he said.
“We have to talk; we have to be louder. We have to use social media, today it is the biggest platform.”People might say I only have 100 followers, well maybe you can influence 50 of them. Even showing you as a white person are with us, that gives us so much power. We believe you are with us so we can go forward with a bigger chest.”No one is doing enough. #BlackOutTuesday is not enough, it’s too easy. Because people are scared to stand for something, to say something because of sponsors or large followings. A black picture is way too easy.”It’s a beautiful message but I’m mad because people have it so easy.”If you ever point a finger at them, they’ll say ‘but I posted that picture’. The picture [alone] does not mean anything to me.”
Kevin Prince Boateng has remembered the second anniversary of Eintracht Frankfurt’s success over Bayern Munich in the final of the DFB Cup.
The former Frankfurt forward led the club to end a 30-year wait for a major trophy after shocking overwhelming favourites Bayern Munich on May 19, 2018.
Boateng, who is now with Turkish giants Besiktas, set up the opening goal in their 3-1 victory over the Bavarians. Ante Rebic lashed onto a pass from the 33-year old.
“Today 2 years ago we made history at Eintracht Frankfurt. I will never forget that moment. Thank You. Miss You,” he posted on Twitter.
Rebic added his second of the day after Robert Lewandowski had pulled level for the German giants.
Second-half substitute Gacinovic sealed victory for the Eagles with the final touch of the game as Frankfurt ended a 30-year wait for a trophy.
The success remains high on the list of achievements by the German-born Ghana international.
The 33-year old left after that game to join Italy side Sassuolo and has since moved to Fiorentina.
Kevin-Prince Boateng will hold a sit-down talks with Besiktas this week to clarify his future after completing a mandatory 14-day quarantine.
The 33-year-old has been in isolation in Güngören – a small industrial and working class residential district of Istanbul, Turkey for the past two weeks.
The Ghanaian star is now set to hold a crunch meeting with Besiktas officials to clarify his future with the Turkish side.
Boateng, who is on loan from Serie A side Fiorentina, is reported to be now keen to take a pay cut to make his stay permanent.
The Black and White have stated in no uncertain terms that they cannot pay the same wages under the same conditions they hired the forward on loan from Italy.
This week’s final meeting will put to rest widespread speculations on the future of the former AC Milan star.
Reports in Turkey are claiming that Besiktas will ask Boateng to make the final decision regarding the proposal put on the table.
If there is no agreement on the financial matters, the two parties will officially part ways.
Boateng will then go back to Germany to continue his personal training before traveling to Italy to continue with Fiorentina.
Kevin-Prince Boateng Turkish club Besiktas have confirmed their club President and eight people between the squad and staff have tested positive for the coronavirus.
The coronavirus continues to affect football all over the world, with many teams having at least one positive case.
Besiktas announced via two statements that President Ahmet Nur Cebi had contracted the illness, then that further blanket tests across the entire squad and club employees flagged up eight positive results.
They have been quarantined as per the medical protocol, as the Turkish Super Lig is set to resume on June 12.
Turkey has officially recorded 143,114 cases of the new coronavirus while 3,952 people have died, according to the health minister Wednesday.
Boateng is currently in Italy but is expected to return to Turkey in the coming days ahead of the resumption of the Super Lig on June 12.
Former Sierra Leone midfielder Rodney Strasser has recounted how Kevin-Prince Boateng’s stunning second-half heroics helped AC Milan defeat his Lecce 4-3 in 2011.
US Lecce were cruising to a 3-0 lead at half time before the introduction of Boateng after recess.
The Ghana forward netted a hat-trick within 18 minutes of coming after half-time, as a stunning second-half comeback for AC Milan saw the Rossoneri recover from three goals down to beat Lecce 4-3 at Stadio Via del Mare on Sunday.
An 83rd-minute header from Mario Yepes completed the fightback for the defending champions, who had been three goals adrift after 37 minutes following a shambolic first-half display.
Strasser could not forget that epic encounter and labelled Boateng as ‘incredible’ following his second-half audacious performance.
“In Lecce I felt very good. Too bad for the serious injury against Juve, I was the owner and I was making my contribution. I found myself very well with Di Francesco: a young coach who wanted us to play well. Even today that Lecce-Milan seems crazy to me. We won 3-0 after half an hour and were dominating. In the second half Boateng entered and alone he overturned everything. Incredible … ”
Strasser and Boateng played together for two years at AC Milan before he left to join Lecce in 2012.
German-born Ghanaian international Kevin-Prince Boateng is set to return to Fiorentina after failing to reach an agreement with Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas.
The forward joined the Black and Whites in the winter transfer window on a 6-month loan deal from the Italian Serie A club on the back of a very difficult start to life with the Viola.
At Besiktas, KP Boateng had an instant impact and established himself as a fan favorite before the season was forced to be suspended as a precautionary measure against the Coronavirus (Covid-19) disease.
His impressive displays caught the eye of the Turkish side who opened talks in the Covid-19 break to try and secure his services on a permanent basis.
Besiktas have cut their losses after deciding against signing Kevin-Prince Boateng on a permanent basis from Fiorentina, GHANAsoccernet.com ca exclusively report.
The Turkish side have made the final decision on the long-term future of the Ghanaian and will not keep the forward.
Besiktas will go down economically due to the coronavirus pandemic and will not have the financial muscle to keep the former AC Milan star.
Boateng joined the side on a loan deal from Italian side Fiorentina but will end his association with the the side this summer.

The Black-and-White are suffocating under financial stress due to the outbreak of the coronavirus -after Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius terminated his contract with the side.
Ghanaian star Kevin-Prince Boateng will return to parent club Fiorentina after the coronavirus crisis.
Ghanaian attacker Kevin-Prince Boateng has eulogised his former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic, saying playing with the Swedish star was very easy for him.
Boateng played with Ibrahimovic while the striker was in his prime at AC Milan.
In two seasons for Milan, the Swede scored an impressive 42 goals in 61 Serie A games to help fire his team to the title – a feat that clearly impressed Boateng.
“It was easy for me to play with Zlatan, I immediately understood it,” said Boateng, “he would open up lots of fields on the field and give me the passes I dreamed. He was an excellent friend. If he didn’t get the ball well or made a mistake in front of the goal, then he would criticize everyone. But he would do it in a tutorial way. ”
In two spells with Milan, Boateng scored 11 goals in 85 appearances.
In 2010, the Ghanaian International was regarded as public enemy number one by the Germans after the injury of Captain Michael Ballack.
Kevin-Prince Boateng has rough edges and is not suspected of bending like a club.
While half-brother Jerome Boateng has developed into a diplomat with boring statements and little attack surface over the years, Bad Guy “Prince” always swam against the tide. The fact that his image in Germany has suffered sustained damage is mainly due to a foul. Ultimately, Boatengs action sealed Michael Ballack’s end in the national team.
May 2010. The English Cup final between outsider FC Portsmouth and favorite FC Chelsea. A good half hour has been played. Like fighting cocks, Boateng and Ballack attacked each other a few times, verbal and physical provocations on both sides. Then the kick. Boateng does not hit the ball, he jumps Ballack onto the ankle with full force. Result: inner ligament tear and partial tear of the syndesmotic ligament.
Kevin-Prince Boateng accounts in his book
After the game, Boateng will say it was not intentional. Just a one-on-one battle that occurs several times in every game. Nobody will believe him. Boateng apologizes, but never shows remorse. Neither immediately after the game nor years later. Instead, he kicks in again. With words.
In his book “Ich, Prince Boateng” with the subtitle “Mein Leben. My game. My billing. â€The professional devotes himself to what is probably his most famous action. And boasts a little for it. After all, German internationals had contacted him and thanked him for his rude attack. Boateng writes about how bad Ballack’s reputation was in the national team at that time. “No one was happy that he was injured, least of all me, but many even found the better option without Ballack.”
Germany plays a good World Cup without Ballack
There was something state-bearing about the injury. In a few weeks, Ballack should lead the German national team during the World Cup in South Africa, now the then world-class player missed his last big tournament. Even more. Because the DFB team enthused with the then aspiring Özil, Khedira and Müller against England (4: 1) or Argentina (4: 0) and returned as third in the World Cup, Ballack’s absence was negligible.
