  • I don’t depend on your tithes for a living; it doesn’t even pay electricity bills – Duncan-Williams

I don’t depend on your tithes for a living; it doesn’t even pay electricity bills – Duncan-Williams

General Overseer of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, has disclosed that the church’s tithes and offerings fall short of even covering its electricity expenses.

He emphasised that the financial support from congregants does not fund either his personal lifestyle or the operational costs of the church.

While delivering a sermon, the well-known cleric reassured his followers that he does not depend on their tithes and offerings for his income.

He explained that he has several local and international business ventures that financially sustain him, enabling him to concentrate on his spiritual leadership without worrying about his personal finances.

“I do so many things outside of preaching; when you look at me, don’t think it is your tithing. Because when we talk about the tithing and offering, it doesn’t even pay the electricity bill.

It is just that I don’t like talking about these things. I don’t. So there are other means; I have investments, businesses here and there, home and abroad, by which I make money in my own way.”

“And I am a serious tithe payer. I pay tithe more than you all, I am telling you, and I am very consistent. Sometimes I fight my office; I tell them have you removed the tithe, then I say don’t go there with me. Make sure the tithe is set aside, and paid to the account, and immediately send me a picture that you have paid it before I touch the money. I am a very serious person when it comes to the things of God,” he said.

Archbishop Duncan-Williams criticised certain clergymen who consider themselves too important to contribute tithes.

“And there are preachers who don’t tithe, because they are too big to tithe. They don’t tithe to anything, anybody. They become self-appointed fathers and men of God because they have come into success, power, wealth, and influence. They don’t have the grace to honour the scriptures anymore,” he added.

Tithing has remained one of the controversial subjects in Christendom, with Christians divided over its appropriateness or otherwise.

The conversations have been rekindled after popular Nigerian preacher Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God recently apologised for telling his congregants they would not make it to Heaven if they forfeited on the tithe payment.

  • Stop tarnishing Owusu-Bempah’s name – Apostle Amoako Atta to Bawumia, NPP

Stop tarnishing Owusu-Bempah’s name – Apostle Amoako Atta to Bawumia, NPP

Leader of the Lord’s Parliament Chapel International, Apostle Francis Amoako Atta, has issued a stern warning to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) regarding what he perceives as an attack on his fellow pastor, the founder of Glorious Word Power Ministries International.

“Now I want to warn the NPP, I want to warn you people that Owusu-Bempah has become your target. It won’t be a blessing for you. The man is a prophet no matter what. Someone who used his church to gamble for you in 2016, for you to give him the red carpet, why are you now insulting him? Why do you want to drag Owusu-Bempah into the gutters, why?” he questioned angrily.

He pointed out that both the NPP and their 2024 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, are mistreating Owusu-Bempah, a move he considers unjust.

Speaking to his congregation on Sunday, September 15, 2024, Amoako Atta remarked that if the party now has another pastor for guidance, they should allow Mr Owusu-Bempah to be left in peace.

“In 2020, he stood up for you, so when things like this happen, it seems ungratefulness has set in. No matter what, Owusu-Bempah is a prophet, so give him every respect he deserves. Those who are going on the radio to insult him should stop because it won’t help.

“I know Bawumia is not like that because Bawumia went to his church. This man has fought earnestly. In 2016, no prophet could come out, but this man stood up and said things that God didn’t even say just to help you people,” he lamented.

Mr Amoako Atta emphasized that targeting Owusu-Bempah, a man of God, would come with consequences for the party. He highlighted the prophet’s support for the NPP since 2016 and lamented how the party appears to be abandoning him now.

“So, stop that and leave him alone. If you have a different pastor, go on because in every dispensation, God raises a man. Owusu-Bempah cannot singlehandedly continue just like that. Give him respect. It is disheartening and I am pained so much it has been on my mind for a long time so let me say it for you to go and tell your leaders.

He also addressed Dr. Bawumia directly, urging him to stop the apparent disrespect towards Owusu-Bempah, saying, “You respect men of God so much, Dr. Bawumia, stop this.”

These remarks follow rumors that Owusu-Bempah had taken money from former President John Mahama and was allegedly working with other pastors to derail Bawumia’s presidential bid after he submitted his nomination forms to Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng for prayers.

Mr Owusu-Bempah has since denied these allegations as false.

2024 Elections: Duncan-Williams warns of a replica of Kenyan demo if the will of Ghanaians isn’t upheld

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams of Action Chapel International delivered a sermon on Sunday, July 7, 2024, emphasizing the critical importance of Ghana’s upcoming 2024 elections.

He called upon all stakeholders, including the major political parties like the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to ensure that the electoral process reflects the genuine will of the Ghanaian people.

Expressing concerns about the potential consequences of any attempt to manipulate or undermine the election results, Archbishop Duncan-Williams cautioned against actions that could lead to unrest similar to what has been observed in other nations. He urged both political parties to respect democratic principles and avoid tactics that could subvert the electorate’s wishes.

In his address, he highlighted the significance of the 2024 elections in shaping Ghana’s democratic future and warned against any form of electoral malpractice. He stressed the need for transparency and integrity among electoral officials, warning of severe consequences for those who attempt to compromise the electoral process for personal gain.

The Archbishop underscored that the peaceful and fair conduct of the 2024 elections is crucial for Ghana’s democratic credibility and urged all parties to uphold the sanctity of the electoral process.

“Someone spoke to me about what is happening in Kenya, and I said that what you see happening in Kenya, there is a possibility in the pipeline, but it’s an undercurrent with the youth. It is around 2025 going forward that you will see it.

“Depending on the outcome of the election and how people win the 2024 elections. If anybody tries to break or play any games on both sides to win this election and disrespect the will and vote of the people and sabotage the will of the people, Ghana will be shocked. People will be shocked that it is the same Ghanaians who are quiet and loving people and don’t want trouble.

“Both political parties should listen to me; if anybody tries to use conspiracies, spirituality, or any means other than respecting the will of the people, the implications will be unbearable. Those who take money to manipulate things for somebody to win the elections against the will of the people, there will be implications. If there’s any election in the history of the country that we shouldn’t play with, then it’s the 2024 election. It is a test of our democratic credentials,” he said.
