David Beckham, the owner of Inter Miami, and his former Real Madrid teammate Zinedine Zidane met before the Open Cup match on Wednesday, just before Inter Miami suffered a defeat.
Unfortunately, Lionel Messi, who missed the game due to an injury, witnessed his team’s loss to the Houston Dynamo from the stadium.
Zidane, the Real Madrid legend, was a guest of David Beckham and joined him on the pitch before the game kicked off.
Zidane is among several celebrities who have come to watch Messi play since the Argentine’s arrival in the United States.
Previously, notable figures like Prince Harry, Selena Gomez, Will Ferrell, Owen Wilson, and Michael Jordan have all been spotted at DRV PNK Stadium.
In 2023, Beckham and Zidane have also had other interactions, with Beckham visiting Zidane’s Z5 sports facility in Istres in June.
Inter Miami, known as the Herons, will be hosting NYCFC on Saturday evening and will be hoping for Messi’s swift recovery to bolster their slim chances of making it to the playoffs.
