York ended a streak of five straight league losses, but they were forced to settle for a 1-1 tie with Boreham Wood at home.
York took the lead late in the first half thanks to a goal from Adam Crookes, but Boreham Wood quickly equalised through a goal from George Broadbent just before halftime.
When Will Evans’ shot in the 12th minute hit a post, the visitors came the closest to taking the lead, but they fell behind when they failed to block a long throw from York’s Mark Ellis, and Crookes tapped the ball in.
After York goalkeeper Ethan Ross saved Tyrone Marsh’s shot, Wood quickly countered, and Broadbent successfully finished after the ball rebounded into his path.
Danny Newton spurned a chance to snatch all three points for the visitors when through on goal in stoppage time, but he fired wide as Wood drew their fourth consecutive game.
