Tottenham is on the verge of completing another late summer transfer as the club has reached an agreement with Galatasaray for the loan of midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, as reported by football.london.
Following the Premier League transfer deadline, Ndombele is set to be the second player to leave north London, with Harvey White having made a permanent move to Stevenage on Saturday.
Ndombele is now poised for a loan stint in the Turkish League.
Galatasaray, which earlier in the summer signed former Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech, also has the option to purchase Ndombele. The player is expected to undergo a medical examination soon, with an official announcement to follow.
Ndombele spent the previous season on loan at Napoli but struggled to secure a regular spot in Luciano Spalletti’s title-winning side, starting only eight league matches and playing less than 1,000 minutes.
This transfer could mark the end of his somewhat disappointing tenure at Tottenham, where he arrived as the club’s record signing in 2019.
His last competitive appearance for Tottenham was in January 2022, and he spent the past 18 months on loan spells, first back at Lyon and then at Napoli.
The 26-year-old was unable to secure a move away from the club on deadline day and has long been expected to part ways with Postecoglou’s first-team squad.
Pape Matar Sarr, Yves Bissouma, and James Maddison have all impressed in the early weeks of the season, while Ndombele has struggled to regain fitness and match sharpness.
