Thomas Partey ready to leave Atletico for Arsenal – Report

Arsenal have received a huge boost in their pursuit of Ghana midfielder, Thomas Partey this summer, Footballghana.com can confirm.

The 27-year-old is among the Gunners’ top targets ahead of the summer transfer window as manager Mikel Arteta is looking for reinforcements in midfield.

According to Spanish radio show Cadena COPE, Atletico are keen to cash in on the midfielder, who is valued at £45million, and are even willing to cut down on his price.

Last month, Footballghana.com revealed that the midfielder is likely to join the Gunners this summer despite the strong competition from Manchester United, Bayern Munich and PSG.

Editor of Footballghana.com revealed that Partey does indeed want to complete a transfer to Arsenal this summer.

He said: “As per a close source to Thomas Partey, the player wants to play for Arsenal. Expect Partey to play in Arsenal next season, expect him to be in England, I can assure you of that.

“Partey wants to play for Arsenal, he wants to be in England. Last week, I’ve been told that [Michael] Essien has got in touch with him and I wouldn’t be surprised because close sources tell me that Partey wants to play in England and especially Arsenal.”

Now, Arsenal appear to be Thomas’ likeliest destination if he ultimately leaves the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium but Arteta will have to sell some players first to raise the funds.

The Ghanaian has put together some stunning performances for Atletico where he has recorded 15 goals and 12 assists in 175 appearances.

Partey has a release clause of £45million (€50m).
